Steve's Deli — Restaurant in New Milford

The owner is horrific during this time of a pandemic and just aftee a major storm. We went in the store said call in I thought it was older. I popped my masked head in asking if the were taking orders live. He started yelling I don't know what he was saying then the nice red headed lady who I've dealt with in the past. She's a doll. I could only understand her except when told told me to GET OUT NOW WE ARE BERY BUSY I DONT KNOW WHEN WE'LL GET TO YOU IF WE DO. I WAS APPALLED. IT TAKES ALLOT AND NO IM NOT A KAREN. IVE NEVER DONE THIS. HE WAS SO RUD . I SAID DO YOU WANT OUR MONEY HE SAID I Want it but if I dont get it it won't ruin me.

He said her out called me a name meanwhile I was just poking my head in I wasn't in the building.

My son-in-law introduced me to Steve's last week. Now I want to know, what took him so long? First of all, though Steve's Deli isn't a dine-in establishment, they do have a picnic table on the front porch you're welcome to. But that's not what you're coming here for. It's the amazing food CIA-trained chef Steve Merkel prepares. We indulged in an order of chicken cutlets and Italian sausage and peppers for dinner later at home. Mama Mia, Little Italy has nothing on Steve! He prepares a limited number of servings of his amazing entrees each morning, so don't wait too late! But I'm going to make it a point of trying the breakfast menu one day...

My guy and I stopped by the driving range next door.We we’re hungry so we wandered in to the deli to see what they had on the menu. I noticed they had Reuben sandwiches.and I have always loved a good Reuben but haven’t been able to find any that matched the ones my mother in law served at her little restaurant she had on Dykeman street 45 years ago. Well, let just say Steves Reuben was the absolute best I have ever eaten!!!The corned beef was warm and fresh and not cooked to death on the grill and the sauerkraut was perfect! I gotta say the coleslaw was tasty too! I give you 5 stars and the service...
