Beware! They have 2 menus with different prices.
My girlfriend and I went to Old Oak Tavern on a Saturday night. We both ordered the Bison Burger from their special menu. On the menu the price was listed as $20 (see photo). When the bill came, they charged us $24 (see photo). When I asked the waitress that just happened to be standing next to us about the charge, she checked on her hand held iPad and confirmed that we were charged the correct amount. I explains that on the menu it was $20. She said she would get our waitress. When our waitress came, we explained the price discrepancy. She insisted that we were charged correctly. She came back to us a few minutes later with the menu, which showed $24. We were shocked. How could we have both seen the same price of $20 and now menu showed $24 (I wish I took a picture of it). So we gave our credit card to pay for the bill. While waiting, there was a couple sitting next to us with menus. We asked if we can see the menu. Their menu was the same as given to us initially. The cost of the Bison Burger was listed as $20. I took a picture of it. Right after that, I went downstairs to confront the waitress about this. She had our payment processed and ready with $8 cash in it included. Should have been more (because of the tax), but I didn’t say anything. I also noticed the menus that were stacked next to the bar. Those also showed $20 for the burger. We left very upset and disappointed, and did not leave a tip. Mistakes I understand. But this was no mistake.
This was a deliberate strategy to cheat their customers. They are simply hoping that the customers will not notice or question the higher charge. They give out the menu that lists the burger at $20, all day, all night and every day. And in addition to that, when questioned by their customer, they play dumb and have a secondary menu with the higher price.
Shame on you!
And the burger was not that good with not a...
Read moreI’m still shocked , My husband Alex and I placed a order for pickup, first time trying this place. We placed a order for pickup for 2 fried chicken sandwiches. We were told over the phone the wait would be a half hour. We show up 40 minutes after placing the order my husband walks in and hands the waitress at the pickup counter $40 the total was $34 he told them to keep the change as his nature. He is then instructed to stand to the side of the bar because the order will be a few more minutes he ends standing there for 50 minutes next to unmasked patrons coughing and laughing while he awkwardly has to wait for his food , and is told that the waitress forgot to put in the order? Why wasn’t he told that when he walked in so he could have Atleast sat in the car and they could have brought it out, the manager or owner instructs the waitresses to give him a refund before leaving and they give him $31 less than the total of the food itself then the manager blames it on the wait staff for being “out of it” while we weren’t going to write this review but when we pulled right down the road to a park to eat our food it was the worst chicken sandwiches we had ever put in our mouth it was literal sandpaper on a bun but the fries weren’t bad (hard to mess up potatoes) all in all this place is a joke completely unprofessional. I would rather go to bulls bridge 10 minutes down the road . I’ll never...
Read moreLost another star. Been over a year since I first tried this place because of previous disappointment. Still disappointed so I figure I'd explain why this time.
Went in on what seemed to be a slow evening, 4 at the bar and maybe 3 tables of customers. The menu prices are well above average. Ordered a $20 cheeseburger w fries, cooked "medium, a little pink inside", asked "how accurate are the cooks or should I ask for medium rare", waitress said " they're pretty accurate" 20 minutes later out comes my cheeseburger that's 1" smaller than the bun and about 10 French fries. Just looking at it I knew it was well done, after cutting into it I confirmed it. The waitress left and I did not see her for another 20 minutes, meanwhile I kept choking down the dry burger taking sips of my drink in between. When she finally walked by my glass was empty and 3/4 of my now cold burger sitting on the plate. I had to call for her attention and let her know "the cook was not accurate" she replied "oh, they're usually good, do you need another drink?" I just asked for my check, paid my $38 and left.
