I recently visited Sweet Touch, and I want to start by saying the food was genuinely very good. The flavors were thoughtful, the ingredients felt fresh, and itâs clear that the kitchen (and whoever put together the menu) has a good deal of talent and creativity. Iâll happily come back for the food alone.
That said, the restaurant is still working through some growing pains. It felt like there was a bit of confusion between the kitchen and the wait staffâorders werenât always smooth, and the timing of dishes was inconsistent. Nothing disastrous, but enough that you could tell the systems behind the scenes arenât quite in place yet. My recommendation would be remove the digital ordering system on the wall and have your customers order all their food with a member of your staff at the register or offer table service, digital ordering system cheapens the experience.
I say this not as criticism, but with encouragement. The restaurant is new, and these things happen. Once they streamline their process and communication, this could easily become one of the better spots in New Providence. The foundationâthe foodâis already there the next steps is to figure out the hospitality aspect (and maybe add some decor/wall art) Iâll be looking forward to coming back once theyâve had some time to settle...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Sweet Touch NJ in New Providence, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the charming atmosphere and inviting decor set the perfect tone for a cozy coffee and pastry spot.
The coffee selection is fantastic! I tried their [specific coffee drink], and it was rich, smooth, and just what I needed to start my day.
But the real stars of the show are the pastries! I indulged in their [specific pastry], and it was heavenlyâflaky, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Each pastry is crafted with care, and you can really taste the quality.
The staff at Sweet Touch NJ are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. It's evident that they are passionate about what they do, and that adds a special touch to the overall experience.

Read moreVery pretty coffee shop. Friend and I ordered turkey sandwich on recommendation of staff. When sandwich arrived the meat (the one slice of it) was pink. We told the server it must be incorrect. We were told the sandwich is turkey ham. We thought we read description wrong. We ate it but it was too mushy from only one slice of meat and too much avocado mash to compensate for it. When we were leaving we read description again and itâs turkey! Told by staff then that they are out of turkey!! Ridiculous. Spoke with owner who did apologize but that was it. $14 for one piece of deli meat is ridiculous.
Addendum: The owner called me back and is giving us our money back. She was very nice and is doing the...
