Cottonwood Grill — Restaurant in New Ulm

Arrived here for a quick bite and was left awkwardly standing inside for a couple of minutes while two hosts looked at us and didnt greet us or say a word to us. We waited a couple more minutes until a customer (yes, a customer rather than the actual staff) told us we should go up to a different host that sas behind the bar to ask for a menu. We walked over the couple of steps to the bar and asked if we could have service for two. The host hastily replied it'll be a couple minutes without even looking us in the face. At this point we decided to leave as there were now 3 hosts who acted like we weren't there while we clearly needed help. I have worked in the food industry for years in the past and 1. It was not that busy 2. It takes a couple of seconds to tell someone you'll be with them, or show them a seat, or at least acknowledge their presence. Lastly, its common human decency to look at someone at least once when youre talking to them. We were trying to be patient but it turned out being embarrassing to be ignored and it felt like they maybe only care about the locals who are there daily.. interior was pretty dated too and we ended up going to a restaurant nearby...

Service is everything to a paying customer. We were told to sit anywhere in the restaurant by the gentleman behind the bar. Waitress checked on the table next to us to see if they wanted another pitcher of beer and didn't even acknowledge us sitting in the booth. My wife said excuse me to the waitress and she just walked away. We waited 10-15 minutes for a waitress and only 5 tables had customers and all had food, except us. We were getting food before our sons basketball game and we wanted to get to the game on time so we ended up leaving to find another place to eat. When we were walking out by the bar, the waitress that didn't acknowledge us at the booth, said thanks for coming - she didn't even know we weren't...

This is my second visit and am doing this review on location. And quite the busy day this Wednesday afternoon! Good reason it is wing Wednesday. My first visit I ordered The Poseidon wrap with duck fries and a peach margarita. The margaritas didn't disappoint as there was definitely a kick, but hardly noticeable. The wrap looked gorgeous and was very tasty and the upgrade to the duck fries...WORTH IT!! Super crispy fries and very tasty, they should sell them by the pound!! For wings today I ordered the spicy honey garlic flavored. The wings.....are......terrific! Ten wings and fries or tots for $10 on Wednesdays!!! Hope to see y'all here....cause I'm not...
