You can find this nine dollar double meat marinated hamburger in New Waverly, Texas just south of Conroe go check them out. Amazing staff and amazing food.

First let me say the restaurant itself, the contents of the menu and the friendliness of the staff are absolutely five star rated. It is from there that the rating loses ground. The widely acclaimed Hootieburger is huge with fresh veggies and is cooked to order. Unfortunately the meat has been marinated which adds a vicious and undesired flavor, detracting from the fire broiled taste. The marinade flavor was so strong and loaded with salt that we could not finish our meals. I suggest you ask if they have non-marinated meat or order something else. It was bad. The prices shown online, even in the photos posted by the owner, are outdated. The menus you are given have a ā€œstickerā€ indicating that the true prices are higher. Ask for the current prices and the waitress can look them up for you, one at a time. Take a pad of paper and pencil with you to simplify making your selection. The red, plastic drink cups had mottled rims, indicative of a lot of use and rough handling. They don’t look dangerous to use but they indicate the owners are not interested in replacing the damaged cups anytime soon. The ceiling is open, revealing the sprayed-on insulation. It gives the place a ā€œconstruction siteā€ feel. The cook does not wear gloves. The assistant cook also does sweeping the floor chores. Strange work assignments. The big screen television played a show where folks from Africa were killing poor, defenseless animals. It did not help to stimulate my appetite. My thought is definitely try this restaurant. Food is good, generally and the prices (final) are not bad. The place is clean and the waitstaff are ultra friendly.

Stopped in here by myself for lunch on a weekday. I opted for the daily special of chicken fried steak and two sides - okra and mashed potatoes. The plate of food came out hot and ready to devour. All aspects were very good and left me well-satisfied. The staff were friendly and the small dining area was clean and inviting. It is definitely worth a stop if in the area or just passing through.

We were passing thru the area and dropped in for lunch. We ordered our food from their menu but was overcharged for everything, at checkout, according to the menu prices. The meal was listed at $9.99 (but charged $13 and change) and a hamburger at $5.29 (but charged $7 and change). We were charged $3 and change, each, for a coke and tea (however I don't know what they were listed at on the menu).

The food and service were good but overcharging is not acceptable.

We had already decided to come back for breakfast the next morning, before leaving the area, but after this experience, no way!

No, I didn't confront them about it but will not come back and want you to be aware of this "up charging" practice at this establishment!

Update: They now claim that a sticker exists on the menu saying the prices are not accurate which Well is very deceiving. SOLUTION: BLACK OUT the menu prices on the existing menus, with a permanent marker, while waiting on their NEW menus to...

My family loves small town cafe, when we travel we exclusively love one off places. But the service at this place was the absolute worst. Our waitress did not know what was apart of the vegetable mix. After asking her to confirm she came back and told me there were not peas in it but couldn't tell me what it was and mentioned the cook refused to tell her. I should have left then and there. We ordered the food was almost not palatable, i ate as much as i could to hold me over for the rest of the road trip. My husbands burger was bland. The pickles on his burger was my favorite part of the meal. normally i wouldn't say anything plenty of places have bad service and great food. Its part of the charm in some places. Maybe this was a bad day for...
