I took my mother here for brunch yesterday. I had tried getting reservations here on numerous different occasions as the reviews were so positive, and the Allison is such a nice hotel. I was happy to finally find availability. What a complete disappointment. I will summarize by saying - there are so many nice restaurants in this area, do not bother going here. The food was alright, not outstanding, but at least it was all right. Our experience however was unacceptable. I hope the GM reads this and takes this feedback to heart. We had reservations at 1:30. We were running a bit late and inquired if we could come at 2 instead and were told that we could only be seated in the lounge. So we hurried up and made it at 1:30. They were not busy and could have easily accommodated us at 1:45. Upon being seated, our server did not come by our table until at least 7-10 minutes to take our drink order. No explanation or info communicated about the menu. After making our drink order and waiting at least another 5 minutes for that - once our drinks arrived - we had to ask about the pastry and fruit plate, which we had guessed was supposed to come complimentary. I do not understand why it did not come with our drinks, and I do not think we should have had to ask for it. It was also very underwhelming, but it tasted fresh, so there is that. After placing our order, our server didn't stop by even once to check on drinks, or look at our empty pastry and fruit plate and clear it, or explain anything about when our entrees could be expected, or give us any information about how the kitchen might be really busy. Again, at this point the place was not busy. Where we were seated was maybe half full. At 2:10 - 40 minutes after our reservation time, I got up from the table to go inquire about when our entrees would be coming. The front of the house person, or maybe they were the manager (I am not sure) communicated that they were sorry and they had been "slammed" and asked if I wanted to leave (!). We were really hungry so I just asked how much longer it would be, and they said they were sure it was coming right away, but they'd check. I can only guess that our food was in fact ready because by the time I walked back to the table (a 30 second walk) the food was being delivered. I believe the order had been sitting there under the heating lamps, because my eggs, which were supposed to be sunny side up, were not at all sunny side up. The yolks were more hard than they were runny. Everything tasted okay. Not outstanding, not at all worth the wait, but at least it was edible. By the time we finished eating by about 2:30 or so, the place was mostly cleared out. It was filthy. Dirty tables everywhere, floors dirty. Our server cleared 2 of our plates and set them on the table next to us and just left them there. There was no offer of dessert, or another drink. Just the bill, and wrapped up mediocre left-overs.

My husband and I have been frequent visitors to this area for over a decade, and I can confidently count the number of places we've eaten at that are less expensive with excellent food and awesome service, that will not charge you 50 dollars a person if you cancel. The chance that I'd come back to Jory is almost zero, but certainly never for a celebration brunch. I had such high hopes, and really wished it would have come close to meeting my expectations. I rarely write reviews, but this was so egregious I wanted to let...

Today is my birthday. It has become a tradition of mine to go get a massage at the Allison Spa, and then have lunch at their Jory Restaurant. Last year (2024), I had a bad experience trying to get any service in the restaurant. I stuck it out and got through it eventually. Over the course of the year, I forgot about it. But then when it happened again this year, I decided that I just going to go home and spend the afternoon of my birthday writing reviews for Jory. My massage was from 11:30 to 12:30 with Nikita and that was top notch. Very positive experience. Around 1:30 I checked out of the spa and walked up to Jory Restaurant. I told the greeter I was here for lunch. She asked if I had a preference as to dining in the restaurant or if I would prefer the lounge area. I asked if the patio was open and she said absolutely, to head out there someone would be with me to get me started. Well, I sat out there for over 20 minutes. Ok, I thought....nobody realizes I am out here. I'll just go in and let them know. So, I went in and walked up to the bar and the bartender asked what he could do for me. I said, well, I have been out on the patio for over 20 minutes and I was hoping to order some food. He said he would have some come out there right away. So, I went back out there. Another 4-5 minutes went by and then a group of 5-6 customers came out on the patio, followed within 1 minutes by a server. The server spotted me finally, came over and asked what I needed with a bit of puzzled look (probably because I was by myself). I placed my food order. Then I asked if he could raise the sun shade so we could enjoy the view since it was sunny and nice out. He said he didn't know how but someone knows how. Then he went over and spent the next 5 minutes talking with the larger group. Got their orders and disappeared. After another 5-10 minutes approximately, he came back out and walked over to me and asked "what was it that i was getting started for you?" I responded "do you mean what was it that you still have gotten started for me?" to which he quickly replied "no, what I ALREADY got started for you?" That was the moment where I decided I have had enough. The guy had no clue what i ordered, never put the order in, and now he's gonna stand here and lie to my face? I reminded him what I ordered, I then watched him punch it into his device, then as he walked away, I got up and walked out. I decided I do not want to see him again, nor feel awkward when he brings me the check with some expectation of a gratuity. Not today, not on MY birthday. Had they been busy, I probably would have tolerated it again like last year, but the place was 80-90% empty. There really was no excuse he could have possibly gave me to fix things at this point. Now it's after 2pm and so I'm just skipping lunch today so I'll be hungry for dinner with my family. I won't be making this mistake...

1 star for service and 2nd class citizen treatment. NOT Recommended! We made a lunch reservation 3 months in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary. When we called to request the reservation, we were told they were busy, but could accommodate our party of 4 for lunch half past noon. We asked for a table by the window, but were informed that they were already reserved. When we arrived to this beautiful location 10minutes early, we were shocked to find the restaurant nearly empty (90% of the tables were empty and cleaned/set for next lunch service). We were delighted about this because we assumed this would allow us our table by the window to celebrate our 25th. When we asked the front of house staff if we could please sit by the window, they said "No, they are setting up for dinner service". I looked at my watch and asked when dinner service begins, the young woman said "4 o'clock" & walked away. We were dumbfounded how it takes 3&1/2 hours from our reservation time to set a table for 4. So, we sat at the only table we were 'allowed to occupy' which was right next to the bar, along a bank of booths with many EMPTY tables in front of us near the window. This booth/table was without much of a view and the area resembled a cafeteria style long/narrow dining hall which was used as a pass-through by patrons/staff to/from the bar/bathroom. During the entire lunch service, servers were rushing to remove the current lunch table settings and replace them with new linens, table cloths, dinnerware, etc. for dinner service. One by one, the table cloths were whipped up into the air spewing dust all over the restaurant and our meals. A LOT OF DUST. Dust which made one of us sneeze several times. They proceeded to change each of the 4 tables in front of us & multiple tables on either side of us during our ENTIRE VISIT. The entire 2 hours! Needless to say, we just laughed it off, ordered, ate and drank. Considering this establishment claims to be haute cuisine or similar, the food was, sadly, a disappointment. It was good, but not great and certainly not outstanding. My meal was barely warm on a cold plate & my huband's was overcooked and dry. Everyone had a decent meal and we ordered 2 bottles of wine for the table which helped tremendously. We were not offered dessert or anything other than food service, wine service and it was comparable to other "Portland" style restaurants. They just wanted to get that room set up for dinner and have us be on our way. Extremely unwelcoming. I would not spend a special occasion here. Frankly, we won't ever return and we will discourage anyone who asks about this establishment, including our guests at our 8 room B&B. Jory is...

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary, coinciding with their "grand reopening"—though I'm struggling to see what was grand about it. I've attached the prix fixe menu, which, from my understanding, is now the only option if you want to dine in the main dining room again. Frankly, I wouldn't bother. If you go, sit at the bar, order your favorite drink, truffle fries, and call it a day. We opted for the lounge, the most comfortable space available, but the service left much to be desired. When we asked about the Wagyu cut, our server responded with a condescending tone—mispronouncing Wagyu as if I were the one who didn't know what it was. Then, instead of answering, she had to leave and ask someone else. We ordered our steak medium rare and received a sad, overcooked piece that was medium well at best. To top it off, our server casually informed us she had to leave early because they "weren't busy." Excuse me, but I wasn't aware we were dining at Red Robin. If you're in the valley and want a truly divine dining experience worth the price, go to Joe Palmer House. If you're in Scottsdale, Michelin-rated FnB is the way to go. Both offer superior food, service, and ambiance—something this place failed to deliver.

Best ever Eggs Benedict...it was killer, all of it!! We were in Newberg for a house show and after going to Black Bear for breakfast the day before, a friend suggested Jory. It was a bit above our dress level (we were in the way to the horse show!!), but we went for it anyway!! The location is a bit out of town, but in a beautiful location on a small hill. The facility is top notch an the people were very friendly and accommodating!! It was early so there was not many guests eating yet. Our server was outstanding and very helpful. I ordered Eggs Benedict which was $20 I think. I was hesitant given the price, but every single thing about the dish and sides was outstanding!! By far the best I've had! Orange juice was fresh and in the end it was literally a couple dollars more than our meal at Black Bear the day before. I will not forget this breakfast for a long time and would highly recommend enjoying a breakfast here one day! Enjoy.

We went to lunch this past weekend and had a very pleasant experience at this wonderful place JORY. After we finished our first winetasting for the day at a nearby winery we found this place and enjoyed a delicious lunch. All of us as well as our out of state visitor was impressed by the quality of the food. The staff was very friendly. Three of us ordered the Burger of the day with fries and one in the group ordered a delicate cold soup which included goat cheese and a side of salad. We will definitely be back next time we go to this Oregon wine region. The only thing that was not perfect was the bacon that was on my burger. It was too tough. So on my way out of the Restaurant I spoke to the young cooks and I saw them act right away by replacing the bacon dish and getting a new one from the back of the Restaurant.
