Someone mentioned Reubens & Cubans, plus a side, which peaked our interest. Always enjoy a good sandwich. When passing by, we only saw a vinyl sign that said OPEN over the store in the small strip mall. Only when getting close could we see it was the "deli"/ sandwich shop we were looking for. We're glad we slowed down, the strip mall is not big at all. We pulled in and looked over their menu to see if there was something else we were interested in trying. They had other items that sounded really good but once we heard REUBEN, our minds were pretty much made up. Wish we would have taken picts of the sandwiches, they were VERY good. The rye bread did NOT scratch the roof of our mouths, the amount of meat was enough and spread out evenly on the bread. It had just enough sour sourkraut and dressing so that it wasn't dripping out of the sides when you held the sandwich. They came with a choice of one side: a bag of chips, or a little tiny cup of coleslaw, potato salad, pasta salad, macaroni salad. Hubby got a bag of chips but I had trouble deciding. I almost went for the pasta salad but when she said it had pepperoni, I said no thanks. I got the macaroni salad and it was ok, but in a tiny plastic container - maybe 2 mouthfuls. I've tasted better that were creamier. The sandwich was on point and I am looking forward to going back. Just a bit pricey but considering the cost of everything is going up, and it's a fresh made sandwich and it's important to support local business, it's worth it. Sorry we didn't take picts of the sandwiches, we were in to much of a hurry to eat and realized it after!
There was a basket there for suggestions, but we ordered and left. Recommendations: have a better vinyl sign than just OPEN. CLARIFICATION: we subsequently found out that A SIGN IS ON ORDER! Get an internet presence, make a website, have a young person do Instagram or TicTok, allow orders online, display photos or images of the items offered. Deli sandwiches generally come with a pickle wedge. Offer slices of pickels with your sandwiches. Put coupons in the local paper, have a senior day when you can save 20% &/or a reward card with buy 10 sandwiches, get one free & stamp or punch their card each time they visit. Put a tiny table inside for those who would like to eat their hot sandwich right there. On nice days, put the table right outside the door. Have people put their business cards in a bowl and draw one out one a week/month for a free lunch. Generate an email list and send out messages with your weekly specials. Get on the local radio station. We'd really like to see your business succeed & you can't rely on just face book or word of...

Anyone local to Dixie County knows that when you have a hankering for a sandwich Subway is the closest thing, but always leaves you hanging for your true craving. Then the next best stop is Public to get you a sandwich made with love and good Boars Head meat.
But hold up, what’s that? Deb’s Deli in the strip mall across from the Weigh Station in Old Town, FL? YES!
We walked in and were greeted by a fresh smelling and extremely clean quaint little deli. Mike and Deb greeted us with smiles as well as a super friendly clerk (didn’t catch her name). They had a fully stocked counter cooler with cheeses and meats, all Boars Head! We got 1/2lb of the Maple Ham and Ovengold Turkey. We would have gotten cheese but we had some left over from the last Publix run. And the best part is, the prices were cheaper than Publix!
They even have a suggestion box and when the Boars Head rep comes on Mondays, they can usually have what you requested by that same Thursday!
In addition, we ordered a Reuben that was phenomenal.
Definitely check this deli out and and support local business!
We are very happy to have this close to home to save on Publix trips and to have a nice clean deli...
Read moreStopped for lunch on long drive from s fla to bhm. Sooooo delicious and very fresh. Quality meat and cheese selections from boars head good bread options. They had my favorite... croissant for my sandwich and numerous topping options. Prices were great and staff was so helpful and friendly. Menu has a great variety I'm sure everyone in your party will find something very satisfying. Lots of healthy but yummy options. Local mom and pop that's veteran owned! Don't think twice about stopping - you will enjoy the food and the people. We need more places like these across the country. I had a spicy chicken lunch meat provolone spinach tomato cucumber red onion avocado on croissant YUM YUM. Hubby had delicious Philly cheese steak. Daughters had their favs grilled cheese with tomatoes and hot dog and fresh fruits. Totally kills the fast food chain places! Counter service was super fast in case you're in a hurry, but we enjoyed taking a break from the drive and eating outside at the picnic tables that had shade umbrellas, you can also sit inside. And it seems that they offer quite a bit more than what's listed on their paper menu so definitely look around and ask when you get inside....
