Flying Hawk — Local services in Newberry

Flying hawk had exactly what we needed - a pipe a couple of feet long with a 1'diameter. It's a family run business which seems to know their customers and if you can find what you need here, it's much nicer going here than Home Depot or to Lowes. They're a great place to go to find your hardware needs or most things for your house to fix whatever is broken, or for your latest project. Screws, bolts, plumbing spray paint. No trespassing or no hunting signs. They even had a rack near the register that had 10 foot charging cords for most cell phones which was very helpful when you want to surf you phone in bed and it's drained from the day-most cords are like only 4 feet. Their store cat was contently lounging on the counter and then decided to stroll outside. The cashier was friendly. This is a large rather messy place but they have a lot of variety as well as my favorite paint pickin shed where they allow you to plunder through stacks of returned or off mixed paints for a fraction of the price of a freash mix. They are usually hard set on prices, though I have made trades here in my 30 years of shopping, here like when I traded my unused garden tub with jets for a much needed refrigerator. I was sorry to hear of the passing of the owner, Mr. Gary. He paid me once back when I was in high school,some 14 years ago, to paint all sourts of goblins n such on several sheets of plywood to make the entryway to a haunted trail for Halloween..also a few buisness...

It was a hometown feeling. I was going to purchase something after our larger order was already paid for. The item was only 3 dollars and all I had was my debit card no cash. The man taking care of me said to just go ahead and bring him 3 dollars when I was in the area again. That is just something you don't hear anymore. My father in law had some cash on him so I got the money from him and took it back in. I live in chiefland but my hardware shopping will be done at the Flying Hawk.
