They get 2 stars - 1 for portion size/value and the other for how they handled a complaint. Other than that, I don’t have much good to say. We started with fried mushrooms. They were frozen. Not just previously frozen, but literally some were still frozen inside. The fact that they had been/were frozen made them very watery and mushy inside the batter. The horseradish sauce was great, but likely not homemade. Next, I had fried chicken and he had the chicken liver platter. As I mentioned above, the portions were quite generous. Neither of them had any seasoning whatsoever - or at least none we could taste. After adding a LOT of salt and pepper, the chicken was pretty good. It was quite well-cooked. After taking one bite of coleslaw I found a hair in it that was obviously not mine. I let our server know and he took it away. He came back shortly after and said he’d told the manager and they had taken the entire item (fried chicken) off of our bill. I didn’t ask for or even expect that, but I do appreciate it! Our server was very friendly, but seemed overly busy. The atmosphere is loud and also it’s not easy to get into unless you know to park in the lower lot and use the street-side entrance. The inside basically makes me feel like someone said “hey I bet I could open a restaurant/bar in...

This place is a gem out in the wild. They have this neon sign outside that really lends to the ambience. Inside they have a great little bar and seating. Bathrooms are clean. Pictures of previous president's on the wall that are signed, all in all it's a nice vibe. I ordered the gyro, cheeseburger, French dip sandwich, catfish fiddler and fried mushrooms. No I didn't eat it all, I could've but I didn't, I wanted to try out what they had. Everything was great. But the burger. You ever had a burger fresh off the grill during fourth of July? It tasted of nostalgia. It tasted like the summer breeze and fireworks at night. Like getting out of the pool while your dad is grilling to steal a burger real quick, scarf it down and go right back in the pool. It tasted like the last sweet moments of my childhood. The fried mushrooms were good too. 10/10 would...

I was told to come here and try their must have catfish filets. After a few bites I noticed a sour taste in the filet. I then peeled back the skin to notice a sour smell and a noticeable brown filet. I explained to the manager “Arron” which he proceeded to show his debating side and saying brown catfish is normal. After this conversation I was granted an (5.00) off a 17.00 dollar filet. Unfortunately I’ll be continuing to eat at finish where the catfish is not brown and also better quantity for your buck. (And when I asked the server to provide how to spell the managers he told her something that made her distressed and she came back with idk and I’m sorry. Fortunately we have the tinfish here in Newburgh that has absolutely amazing and fresh catfish for a better price. Thanks Arron for the terrible experience on trying this place for the first...

Knob Hill Tavern In Newburgh: Go for the fried pickles, the french dip, and those cold fishbowls of beer that’ll have you feeling real friendly, real quick. And Sweet tea? Yes ma’am. 👌🏾 Now… if you like your tenderloin seasoned with absolutely nothing but air, go ahead. And if you enjoy paying top dollar for a Jack’s pizza straight from the freezer aisle — order that pizza, boo. And why are there grape leaves in my Greek salad?!!! The salad was 🗑️ But the patio? Baby, with those fans on a cool day, you’ll forget all about the unseasoned crimes happening in the kitchen. Pull up and see for yourself & Report back. The jury is still out on if it’s #EbaliciousApproved or #NotEbaliciousApproved since I like half of what I got. You just may catch me on the patio in the future to try the fiddlers. #KnobHillTavern #Evansville #evansvillefood

This is a quaint little Tavern Restaurant, it serves pizza, catfish, and sandwiches. I had an Italian sub that was just unbelievably wonderful, best Italian sub I'd ever eaten, the wife had a Greek salad and some pizza dough with butter. Her Greek salad was good, service was friendly with a smile, everything was great. I would have given it five-stars except I saw a tall fellow with a tabletop rag drop his rag on the dirty carpet floor let it lay there and then picked it up again and wiped off the table with it, so that was kind of unsettling, but other than that, man that Italian sub was great!
