Giovanni's Bakery — Restaurant in Newington

Ive been dealin with rick and john and maria the original owners thats been since generations i knew there mom and dad johns wife i know the whole family nieces and nephews since 27 years. And i was heartbroken when i heard they sold the business to the 3 sisters all my cales rick and john did for everyone in my family we never went to anyone we was very happy with there services and pastries we ordered my 3 year old twins birthday cake from the new owners Giovannis were very disappointed on the taste on the decorations and how it looks none of our guest ate it my daughter was very heart broken 160 dollars for a half of sheet of cake we hardly got any filling it was dried they made it the way they wanted to not the way we told them too if i was yous please go somewhere else anywhere else is better i give them a 1 rating for service and profession im a busines owner has well in new britain and this isnt a way to handle any type of business its nothing what my grandbabies wanted very disappointed there cakes are over price i dont mind spending a couple hundred on a good cake the way we want it but this wasnt it i just spoke to the owner she never apologized or anything she made it seen she was...

This place is amazing for desserts and also pizza and their gelato is amazing. I really enjoy buying their muffins they're always really soft and very fresh and they're pastries are the best I have tasted around. I also come here and buy their baked bread which is made freshly daily. I go in the morning so I can get the freshest spread around it is very soft and still warm a bit. I've also tried their Pizza which is really good I do not like a lot of cheese on my pizza so that's why this pizza is the best for me it has very little cheese and a nice amount of sauce. I definitely recommend anybody checking this place out if they want a delicious dessert. I know you will be truly satisfied...

This bakery has been a staple in Newington for years They have good quality and always consistent. If you go to Facebook it says it's now under new ownership starting when they reopen on January 15th after the holiday vacation shut down. After 43 years the original owners have decided to sell it. There's also advertisements for hiring all new staff at the bakery but well. I hear technically the new owners have been onsite since August. Good sign as everything has been great thru the holidays. Its promising going forward the new ownership keeps the same consistency and quality of what's expected of an Italian bakery...
