The atmosphere is great because its outdoors over looking Great Bay, but the food is not very good and way overpriced. I ordered the BLAT ( a quasi-silly acronym for a BLT with avocado). It cost $11 and IT WAS tiny. Think roughly 5"x5"x2". There were 2 slices of bacon (or just 1 cut in half-I'm not sure), some lettuce, tomato, and a sliver of avocado. Think about this for a moment, if you were to make this at home it's be at LEAST twice as thick (and wider) as Lexi's just due to the quality and AVERAGE thicknesses of the ingredients. The sourdough bread ALONE should be over 2"! It's sourdough after all! In addition to the BLAT, I ordered the buttermilk onion rings, As A fan of battered rings versus breaded, I was excited to try these out. To Lexi's credit, the number of rings in the order were ample and they were piled high in the paper tray, However, there was a disconnect with the buttermilk batter and the flavor that they gave the onion rings. It might very well have been that my taste buds were off that day but, I could only eat a few before discarding them. Lastly I'll mention my cocktail. I ordered a Mai Tai, which everyone knows is not a big, tall drink, yet it cost $15. When I got it, I had to send it back because I literally could not taste any ETOH. I thought that they gave me a virgin MT by mistake. In the end I paid almost $40 for a sub-par sandwich, some onion rings that I ended up tossing out, and a small lunch cocktail that I had to have the bartender remake. Lexi's Landing is located at the Great Bay Marina which is located a long way away from other restaurants. I understand the concept of increased prices because you have a "captive audience." But this was a bit much. Going forward, I'll be packing my own lunches...
Read moreAfter having been to Lexies, I thought that Lexie's Landing would be equally pleasing. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We called Lexie's in Portsmouth to see if there was outdoor seating, as we had just left the vet and had our dog with us. The girl that answered the phone said no, but dogs are allowed at their other location, Lexie's Landing. She also assured me that the menu was the same and that their great burgers are all available at the Landing. Unfortunately this was not so. There are three burger choices on the menu and two on special, with not much variation. The onion rings that were so delicious at Lexie's are not available at the Landing. The dog was not allowed in the outdoor seating and there was a sign for "service dogs only" at the door. Not a good experience. The burgers that we did order had avocado on them - 3 tiny slivers that covered 1/4 to 1/3 of the buger. The burger taste was mediocre at best. Nothing like what we had previously at Lexi's. The waitress forgot to bring out two of our three orders of fries. She ended up comping them when we asked where they were. Our overall experience was poor and we...
Read moreI visited this restaurant on July 4th, expecting a pleasant meal by the water. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. We were asked where we would like to sit and were given the choices, “water view” or “under the tent”. We chose to sit at the “water view”, but the view was mostly covered by trees. Only 2 or 3 tables had umbrellas and the rest were full sun. The service was self-serve for water, which was fine with the heat on the 4th. Our waitress did not seem too happy to be there which I can understand with the heat that day. The burgers were low quality and not worth the price—I could have made better ones at home. We were really hoping for a fun 4th of July experience here with some great burgers. Overall not what we were expecting or what was advertised to us. After our meal, we spent some time walking around the marina the restaurant is located in which...
