So, I didn't know what to make of this place, at first.
Well, the Prime Burgers gave me some indication and they were the star of the menu. But I sensed, from the staff, there was a Latino flair, which there was... but all to the good (well, great food, actually)
We ate lunch for 6 and it was pretty empty (but they're repaving the parking lot; nice touch).
Five of the 6 people had a burger and I had the Philly Steak panini.
Well, let's just say... there wasn't a main dish left on anyone's plate to take pictures of... everyone polished their entire burger down. They were cooked to order, which isn't a guarantee whether you go to a burger joint or a 5-star restaurant. It didn't declare that it was prime beef blend on the menu, but they sure looked & tasted like it. Out-of-the-park, yummy and sumptuous. Everyone got a different burger - the Latin Burger (which Jamie, our server, insisted the person in our party not sub anything out and he was happy for it! Thank you, Jamie), the Butcher Burger, the Bacon & Egg Burger. Excellent!
The Philly Cheese Steak panini was also cheesy, gooey, had a nice portion of steak and was nicely pressed on the panini grill.
The sauce (pictured), which they served with the bread when you're seated was so savory and delish that it was drinkable; a unique combination of oil, garlic and some red peppers. To die for... I might serve the bread slightly toasted, which would make it better.
The fries were house-made and hand-cut; nicely done. The only poor performer... the onion rings. Obviously, pre-packaged and not on par with everything else they serve.
All in all, an excellent spot I'd frequent again if invited or the opportunity...
Read moreWe arrived to loud music on a bad sound system and it didn't get better. The server was very inexperienced and was also the bar tender. There were only 2 people on the floor, and one was also the hostess and server. We started with a wedge salad that had 3 small soggy pieces of bacon and a little milky bland blue cheese dressing, but, the lettuce was fresh and nicely cold. We ordered burgers and fries and one was cooked perfectly but one was raw instead of medium rare. When the server finally came by I told her and she argued that I ordered medium rare, I said yes, not medium raw and she grabbed it and took it away. A new one arrived quickly as I would expect from a nearly empty restaurant, and was cooked perfectly. Both orders of fries were greasy and soggy. I had a side of coleslaw that was very big and very good, but the server took my fork when she cleared salads and never gave me a new one,or came anywhere near out table, but another server helped out since ours was busy bartending as well. No dessert was offered, just " can I get you anything else?" $60 plus 20% for the server was money not well spent because I have had far better meals and dining experiences at Chilis for significantly less $. Clearly the ownership has lost interest here and there is no management to speak of. I spent 10 years in the restaurant industry working my way up through middle school, high school and college, from food joints to fine dining. I know how it's supposed to work, and this place just doesn't. Sad to see another person's dreams and ambition go down the toilet and I did not enjoy circling...
Read moreWent there with family, they had live music which I thought was nice. My family isn't as big a fan of live music but even they agreed they were great just louder than they would have liked. This is not the norm however for them to have live music but it is a possibility for those wondering. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Fettuccine Bolognese and I have to say that the meat sauce was some of the best I've ever had! Was recommended that from a family member and it did not disappoint. The soup was great and the bread was very good even with no additives like butter or oil but was given butter and some sort of spread which I was not a fan of but everyone else at the table absolutely loved. Food took a little longer than I would have liked but it was an extremely busy night with the entertainment I guess brought in a huge group. They gave us complimentary drinks to make up for this without us even mentioning the slow service so at least they were aware and made sure to take care of us. Will definitely be back for the bread and bolognese soon!
Update! Went back 6/17 and they made some changes to the menu that will make me no longer go. Sad to say really since it was an easy go to whenever we wanted to go out but now the bread I would rather not have than eat and they completely got rid of the bolognese which was the best I’ve had from any restaurant. Steak is great still but it’s a rare occasion that I want to spend $60 on one food item and with the current bread it’s not worth it to go even for that. Wish them the best but it’s not...
