Audrey's Restaurant — Restaurant in Newport

I never like leaving reviews like this, I understand that this business is somebody's livelihood and most likely the means of supporting their family. Because of the fact that my review is in such stark contrast to the rest of the reviews I see here, I hope that this was just a one-time thing. We ordered two chicken fried steak breakfasts. Both of them tasted like river water. Both of them were bloody. I have eaten chicken fried steak in 45 of the 48 continental United States, and I have never had one dripping blood onto my plate. This was bloodied than a rare steak. It was absolutely repulsive. The waitress deducted one steak from our bill but not the other. There was chunks of ice in the biscuits and gravy. Not one of us were happy when we left. The only thing this place had going for it was excellent coffee and attentive service. I apologize if my review causes any hardship but that food made me sick and it needs to be dealt...

This was a wonderful discovery for my daughter and I last week when we took a trip up to Newport. This is some mighty fine American food! The menu is expansive and they have a lot of variety! Everything we got was super good! Check out their Onion Rings. Really satisfying! They serve breakfast all day and even have some seafood on their menu. Very good milkshakes too!

The waitress was also very nice and cheerful and we really had a good experience here. If you like American food - this place beats any Dennys or IHOP around! Newport is very lucky to have such a restaurant in their town. We plan on driving out of our way from now on - just to go and eat out...

DO NOT GO HERE! I’ve been twice and gotten food poisoning both times. Last time I went I told my waitress the chicken fried steak smelt a little funky and she insisted it was fine, but ten minutes after eating it I was throwing up in the bathroom there. When I came out and told her I got sick from the meat she said “okay, do you want to pay with cash or card?” Then she said “if we had more customers our food wouldn’t be rotten.” And basically blamed all the customers for not buying and tipping more.
