This restaurant has the best views. The outdoor seating is very popular and the outdoor bar must be the most popular of all . We went for the cozy indoor seating. We were escorted to a table with a nice view of the water. There is no background music to interfere with a pleasant conversation with your friends. I count that as a plus. We had a wonderfully cheerful waitress take our order. My wife ordered the lobster roll. Now we have had lobster rolls before. I can say, this lobster roll is on a higher level than any I have had before. This full sandwich was just packed with lobster claws. If there was any other part of the lobster, I couldn't detect it. The lobster roll is served with a side of coleslaw. My wife must have liked it as that was the first item to go on her plate. A large serving of chef prepared potato chips is served in a silver bowl. The chips were fresh and crispy and about twice as thick as a typical potato chip. I had the scallops with fresh off the ear corn (nice job chefs) and a sprinkling of cooked kale. A flavorful thick sauce melded the scallops and vegetables together. A garnish of a few sprigs of salad greenery made a pleasant garnishment for the the top scallop dish. Excellent presentation and very fresh and tasty. I would be willing to bet that locals know about this place. It's just far enough out of the tourist trap area to be a secret. They also offer free valet parking. What more...
Read moreWe had a lovely experience dining at Aurelia at Castle Hill Inn, even though we couldn’t get a reservation for the regular dining room—it was fully booked when we arrived at 5:30 PM, though the space still looked fairly empty. The dining room does offer a $65 tasting menu which looked wonderful.
Fortunately, the bar area is a great option, offering both high-top tables and lower, more comfortable seating, which I really appreciated. However, the bar area does not offer a tasting menu.
The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, and the service was warm and attentive. We started with a cheese and honey spread served with fresh bread, which was absolutely delicious. For our main course, we shared a Caesar salad with added chicken, and it was perfectly done—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying.
The property itself is stunning—located on a private peninsula, it feels like a tucked-away retreat with sweeping views of the water. There’s free valet parking, and everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and professional.
My friend said there was a lady seated behind me wearing a top with big buttons and this must be the new fashion for the rich. I have no idea what she’s talking about for I did not pay attention to who was sitting behind me.
