I can't say enough good things about Stable Grounds.

Their sandwiches, smoothies, and baked goods are an absolute delight. The sandwiches are crafted with care, using the freshest ingredients, and you can tell that they are made with love. The Daily Refresher is a must try IMO. The smoothies are refreshing for when you need something light and cold. And their baked goods? From flaky homemade pop tarts to decadent pastries to their flavorful scones, everything is baked in-house and you can't help but feel like you're indulging in a little piece of heaven.

But let's not forget the star of the show—their espresso. This coffee shop undoubtedly boasts the best espresso in the area. It always tastes fresh and perfectly pulled. The baristas take their craft seriously, meticulously crafting each cup with precision and care.

Stopped in for a mid day pick me up in Newport, NC. The place had a rustic, but welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. Both young ladies behind the counter geeted me in a friendly tone. I ordered my go to – a cortado – a drink that is equal parts espresso and steamed milk.

Sometimes, in smaller shops, or in smaller communities, you get that puzzled look when you order something outside of a latte or cappuccino. Elise, my barista, didn't bat an eye. She knew exactly what a cortado is. She rang me up and continued with friendly conversation about the shop while she prepared my drink.

She handed me my drink in an appropriately sized cup. Always a good sign. The taste? Love at first sip. A beautiful blend of medium roast espresso and steamed whole milk.

Some final thoughts: Stable Grounds uses Monin syrups which are high quality with minimal ingredients.

They feature a two group La Marzocco espresso machine which is a highly regarded piece of equipment.

Great little coffee shop right in the center of town. Coffee is very smooth. My work hours don't allow me to try the breakfast selections, but the couple of times I have had lunch here were amazing. The Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich was really special...made to order, hot, and full of flavor. Soups have been really good through the winter. Coffee is very smooth. The owner is a very friendly host and visits with customers often. You get treated like family by her and all the folks working there. The atmosphere is very relaxed. You could read a book, check an email, I probably could take a nap! Looking forward to trying a breakfast sandwich soon.
