Update to my last review.
Visited today and not sure why the only person working today felt the need to take out her bad day on the customers. She was extremely rude. Did not turn around or stop what she was doing to take our order. Took the order with her back to us. Then proceeded to slam the doors of the food cabinets as we ordered. She was obviously in a terrible mood and had a scowl on her face. The sandwich that I always order tasted disgusting. Parts of it cold and others were kind of warm. She probably heated it up for about 10 secs.
The Newton location was wonderful the first time I visited. If I ever come here again and she is at the counter, I'll just leave.
Disgusting service and unacceptable attitude.
I visited two different locations and while the food was great at both, I can't say the same for the attitude of the employees. The first one in Newton - the staff was welcoming and amazing! I may have never visited this location if I visited the other location in Dedham first.
Newton was not as packed as Dedham so maybe the staff wasn't as stressed out as the staff of two in Dedham was due to the constant flow of guests through the door.
Dedham's staff assumed we were ordering to go and when my husband corrected him, he barked at him, "it would be nice if you mentioned that earlier!" That was so unnecessary. How about you ask and not assume? We are from out of state so we are not regulars. I'm used to being asked if it's for here or to go before preparing the food.
The food was good so that helped. We were there for business and during the 30 mins or so they we were there, the line never ended and at one point was out the door.
Please have more staff available at the Dedham location especially on a Saturday. Obviously, it is popular because the food is actually very good. I'll probably visit again but will make sure I state...
Read moreI'm a frequent visitor to Caffè Nero, and I enjoy going to their various locations around the globe about 2-5 times a week. On this particular occasion, I bought Caffè Nero, while my dad purchased Starbucks. Despite our purchases, we wanted to dine in together. However, a staff member approached us and informed us that eating in was not allowed, which surprised us, as this would not have happened in other Caffè Nero locations worldwide, especially in the UK.
Nevertheless, we complied with the rule and left to enjoy our food outside the same restaurant while the staff checked with management. This experience felt typical of America, but I think it is damaging to the Caffè Nero brand, as it creates inconsistency and confusion for customers. I believe it would be beneficial for Caffè Nero to address these issues and provide consistent training to their staff at all their global locations. It's essential to maintain a positive brand image and ensure customers have a pleasant experience regardless of the...
Read moreMy husband and I come here often to share a coffee and a snack. Lately the staff have been so consistently rude. Today we came in the afternoon and were so sad to see how miserably the staff treated everyone in line. They were rude and condescending. They also made minimal effort to make my drink properly and were very sarcastic in answering any questions. My hot chocolate was partly empty when I received it. I was back in line to ask them to remake it when I witnessed them dismissing several customers in front of me and decided it wasn’t worth the time.
I understand that staffing has been challenging and everyone has their own personal issues during these times, but there’s a limit to how long that can continue. I can’t spend my hard earned money somewhere that treats it’s customers this way. I will happily go to the Starbucks across the patio or to George Howell around the corner. You have lost our business and I’m sorry to say that because coming here is a favourite past time for us.
2 stars for a...
