Trust me, I didn't expect much when I entered this small establishment. I'm literally slowly making my way around the "Chinese" spots around the area until I've tried them all. I wasn't expecting anything and definitely not expecting any form of "service" as it *is* a Chinese spot. Yet, she spoke to me. She reached out and conversed in a manner that only this culture could really explain. She wanted to know me and why I was even here in this area. One eyebrow up, I explained. Two eyebrows up, almost an hour later, I still explained. All I knew was that she welcomed me and wanted me to feel home. There was nothing else past that. It's just the culture. It's Chinatown outside Chinatown, and Chinatown outside China (and everything else associated with it). They take the time to purchase produce on behalf of their customers at close to cost price. They take the time to welcome people in. I'm one of them - out of place, out of the element - and she gave me almost an hour of her time. She even apologized for the "yellowness" of my order due to the time it sat there while we conversed BUT I simply told her I'd see her again. Her family welcomed me to Massachusetts. And moments later when I dug in to the food I brought home, I knew home was here. They served up some seriously legit Chinese influenced dishes. BEST PART? The posted menu is only a front. How do I know this? She read me and invited me shortly to the private chat group for the daily cuisine specials directed at those wanting to taste home. There is some legit culinary techniques here. I'd voyage more into it but I'll respect the secrecy of it all. Come with respect, explain a genuine intent to partake, and perhaps, you'd be invited to the ball of a lifetime. I know I am for one awaiting and ready for it. These guys *can* seriously cook.

The Lobster Wok has been there as long as I can remember. It was there when I was in highschool back in the early 1980s. It cannot be the same owners and I doubt it is even the same restaurant, but I have never noticed it change. That said, it had never become one of my go to places. For the first time in thirty years, I decided to try it. The front room was more of a makeshift grocery store than a restaurant. We waited a full 15 minutes while the lady working the counter put together (and rang up) a grocery order. I then placed my order (two dinner combos) and was told 20 minute wait. My order was ready in about half hour. I saw other orders, placed after mine, leave well before mine was ready. Dinner was taken home. The food was good. My spicy dish was very mild but it had a good flavor. Portion size was good and the food came out hot. Unfortunately, the counter service was their weak point. The food was good but the lady running the counter was loud and rude. The front waiting area is small, dirty and full of boxes of items for sale. The experience was as pleasant as going to the DMV only without the charm. They are also one of the few businesses I have seen that charge an up-charge for credit cards. No, I probably will not return here any time soon.

In Brighton MA, my address is 10 minuets from this establishment. Today I ordered online for a delivery @ 1:42 pm I ordered from the lunch menu which is only available till 3pm. I waited an hr and a half before I called to see what's going on. The women says she didn't receive my order/ ticket .The women finally found my order and @3:50 pm i got my food. I saw that i was charged extra so u called the restaurant and I asked why , the lady said it was cause I'm in Brighton ๐Ÿ˜†. I'm literally a 10 minuets drive from this place and that's closer than most restaurants I order from in Brighton. I order from here everyday and never have they ever charged me extra.... I'm not ordering from lobster wok any more. Love their food but I hate how sneaky most of the oriental restaurants are with our hard earned dollars!!! I said it and I won't take it back!!!! It's a no for me. The driver was kind enough to give me change back. Sad when the delivery driver has to pay you. ๐Ÿ˜ข not very pleased with Lobster walk cause I really love it here ๐Ÿ˜” . Don't think I can even enjoy my meal. Above all else there's a delivery fee of $5.00 and a card fee of almost $3.00 also.... meeehhhh ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘ my order was $30.55 before US taxes. I paid and was...
