La Rosa — Restaurant in Niles Township

At work at the time, I ordered at La Rosa Pizza On Golf via Yelp solely because there was not a minimum order fee or a specific pre-order time for delivery in comparison to other restaurants I had an interest in. I work nearby in Skokie and have pondered many of times in the past when I would visit to order takeout. The interest was there, however, the urge was not there until now.

The restaurant has this old-fashioned, hole in the wall appearance being that it has been around since 1957.

As for my order, I ended up ordering a meatball sandwich after contemplating briefly on their lasagna. In time, I imagine that I will order either that or their pizza which I must try being that it is a pizza restaurant and I do love pizza. As for the meatball sandwich, it was filling! It came with two huge meatballs inside of 6-inch sub-style bread.

I have no complaints about my overall experience with La Rosa; my food arrived in a timely manner, and its taste was not disappointing. As for future orders, I just cannot see myself ever dining in, however, I can see myself ordering takeout because La Rosa sits enroute on my drive which makes it perfect for takeout. And now that I have ordered here once, I can only imagine that I will order...

Update- They won't give you a refund if they get your order wrong. They delivered the wrong pizza with toppings I'm allergic to. I called and said that the pizza was wrong and I can't even eat it, and I even sent the manager a photo. They 1) did not send a replacement, 2) argued about it, and 3) said they would give a refund but never did and the person I spoke to today acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. I lost $47 dollars for ONE pizza I never got- unacceptable.

This place used to be really great, it's a shame how poorly this place is run now. They've gotten my order wrong 3 separate times and then they can't figure out how to get it right. Not even a complicated order- just 1 or 2 pizzas with two toppings. Multiple phone calls asking where my pizza is and long times on hold. The service and ease/quickness was what made this place great but it's gone so far downhill that they literally can't get your order correct or get you the food you want. Don't order here, they'll send you a random mystery pizza and then you'll spend multiple phone calls trying to figure out...

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE. On October 31st, I ordered a pizza and some wings from this place for delivery to try it out. This was my first time and LAST. They forgot my wings, which I understand that mistakes happen. The driver told me to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant and they tried to pass the buck. They told me it was not their responsibility and that I should call Grubhub. They could've totally made this right and sent me my wings which were already paid for. They refused to make it right, told me they were too busy and then hung up on me without offering me a refund for food that I had already paid for. This is absolutely a very unprofessional way to do business. Order from this place at your own risk. The manager was rude and unprofessional and refused to help me.
