China Hut — Restaurant in Norfolk

First time at China Hut, and it hit the SPOT. My lady friend and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and shrimp lo mein. Shrimp was a little over cooked, noodles were tasty. Sweet and sour chicken cooked to perfection! Got your usual chinese restaurant red sauce, no issue there. Egg Rolls - H U G E. Crab Rangoons were basic size, nothing special there, although the meat on the inside had an interesting kick of taste. We ordered over the phone and had a communication mix up and gave us more egg rolls and crab rangoons than we ordered. That, plus they updated the prices on their menu than what was posted is why our order came out more than expected. No receipt.

4 Stars because of the price discrepancy and shrimp, but other than that nothing else was terrible. Would reccomend. Location is hole in the wall strip mall place but do not let that discourage you. If you do not want to cook, eat here. You'll be having...

Today was my 1st time here.Walked in and placed order for combination fried rice&General Tso chicken..waited 15minutes and my food was ready. Drove home and was of course looking forward to eating my 2 favorite dishes..opened up 1 item and instead of fried rice it was Lo Mein which is my least favorite item. I never order lo mein only rice..of course I called them and they laughed saying oh they messed up and just come back..well I couldn't really come back..I had an appointment..she said well just come anytime..sorry but with gas prices and my bill was $19.00 I was upset. Having to return..not eat my hot food..I think they should have offered to drop off the food and even refund the rice price or even offered an egg roll. Just sorry. To be honest The Royal China here in OV is just as good. They give you an egg roll with your order. I lost my appetite after driving back and picking up...

While the wait was a tad long for me - 20-25 minutes, it was definitely worth it. We didn't call ahead, and I will next time. We chose to dine in and ordered 4 eggrolls, one dinner order of general tsos chicken with white rice, an order of dumplings and two bottled drinks. The general tsos was so crispy and delicious! The sauce was nice and thick, coated it very well. Friend wasn't a huge fan of the eggrolls, but he's not a huge eggroll guy. I liked them a lot. Reviews are right, not super greasy, the filling was slightly different to others I've had. Dumplings were tasty and crispy and their dipping sauce was spot on. I will definitely be back for more of it!! The lady who took our order and served us was also very nice and the place was also clean...
