Haven Inn Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Norfolk

Good crowd, good burger and good crispy fries. Dart league, pool league, and all of this just on my first visit! If you haven’t been here or you’re just passing through the area, give them a shot. Limited seating though.

Update: 13 AUG 2022 I stopped by for the 2nd time to have this delicious burger/fries, but was told there would be no cook tonight so only appetizers were being offered. The off going barmaid “Bobby” seemed very kind and was going off shift. I’m not sure the name of the barmaid that was there, but she wouldn’t take my order and I had to walk to the end of the bar to ask her to let me pay for my only beer. Apparently after speaking with another patron, this is the only employee that refuses to cook. I was starving and she spent the entire time with her back to 90% of the bar. She was speaking to only one patron the entire time. I went from spending $20-25 for dinner and drinks to having 1 beer.

For the owners- you may wanna pay attention to your cameras. If this isn’t your policy then you should take some corrective action. Or remove the menu. I was given a menu and told I could order appetizers. But even then she wouldn’t give me the time of day.

I dropped the stars rating by 2 stars. had this been my first experience I would never come back. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place based on tonight’s experience. After my first visit I was planning on coming here most weekends and 1-2 evenings during the week. since I’m living out of a hotel for the next few months I need a decent place to spend some time…eat/drink/be merry lol. We recently moved to a neighborhood near by and after a long weekend of unpacking, we decided we deserved a cold beer and a burger. I looked up good burgers and Haven came up as an option. We always love a dive-y bar with good food, so decided to try it. We get there and the front door has a sign that says smoking entrance and that the nonsmoking entrance is in the back. We go around back as I don't smoke due to my Dad and Granddad dying from cancer due to smoking. We entered the back door and there are two bathroom doors and a third door saying smoking entrance. The non-smoking section is a small hallway next to the bathrooms. I guess that is their way of mocking non-smokers. We walked back around and used the main entrance. Basically, from the moment we entered we were clearly not welcome. It was a Sunday night, but they were open for 90 more minutes. We asked what was on tap, ordered, and we were given bottled beer. I guess the taps don't work. We didn't ask. The bartender then stayed as from us as possible chain-smoking with some regulars. Maybe the kitchen closes early on Sunday. Anyway it was clear we were not getting any food...

Myself and and three coworkers just worked a hard day on a Sunday and chose this place to stop and have a beer with each other. We were immediately met with the bartenders attitude with her being upset of us moving four empty barstools closer to One another. It’s obvious the customer service for this place is terrible. The sad part is they only had three Customers in the bar so her attitude made for other customers Levi’s trying to make money.
