No need for whomever to respond to this that can't take criticism lightly.. BTW no one cares about a camera check but police for crimes 👍🏾 👌🏾. That this restaurant has criminally committed!! To whomever may reponse to this obviously can't see validation with doing better to reponse for quality and professionalism! Although if you'd like to reponse to any. ""FOR THE People ""Please do better!! make it know to customers of your in house policy about remaking food!! Especially when you want a customer to repay more money for food not given from the beginning!! We didn't catch closing hours. Yet ordered chicken sandwich and fries around 520pm. CALL next day was told that the restaurant wasn't remaking of our food because in house policy. Also that food made was in the refrigerator was available to pick up Cold. That is not posted to inform customers. We agreed and thanked them for holding our food but we asked for a remake .( Cause who wants cold fry food??) and wanted an additional chicken and sandwich with fries. to then be told that that the Chef/Owner wouldn't make any exception to the order to be remade. The Lady also claimed that the staff waited on us in the parking lot. To return for our food.. again we didn't know their time closing was at 6pm. Our fault for not knowing right!+ Yet timing at this establishment varies on their occasion. So the lady also tells us if we wanted the chicken sandwich still that we would be up charged in addition of $6 for the original with the addition meal. Because this day was $6.00 special for chicken sandwich ?? So to the Chef/Owner . Of my 26 years as a chef and owner of my own establishment. I have never heard the utmost but hopefully you all will changed this in-house policy. so you won't lose any more money from potential customers that don't mind featuring in eating good food...
Read moreMy husband and I had to drop our lives and fly to Norfolk, VA for a medical emergency. We knew nothing of the town, the food, what to do, what to eat, and barely had a moment to ourselves the entire trip. We found and picked Our People's Soulful Seafood because that's what popped up when we were looking for open food in proximity to our Airbnb. Our People's Soulful Seafood was probably the brightest, best spot of an otherwise miserable 10 days. The folks running that establishment have their stuff on lock. Not only was their love of food evident, but so was their love of people. After our first visit, we walked our food to the park and were on the verge of tears it was so good. We of course had to come back as soon as we could (which sadly wasn't until a few days later) and again, were blown away by everything we ordered. Every bite tastes like a wonderful labor of love, exploding with flavor. When we paid with card, there was no option for adding a tip. We had no cash so when we asked how we could tip, they all gratefully assured us it was okay and, but we still walked away disappointed we didn't express to this family just how much this food brightened our trip. We planned to stop there one last time before we finally got to go home to Seattle (this time with cash so we could tip), but of course life got in the way and we didn't have the time. So to the kind folks at Our People's Soulful Seafood, thank you for feeding us such love-filled meals when we so desperately needed them. And to everyone else who happens to read this review, if you have access to this place don't take it for granted. This food and this place is...
Read moreI recently took my family on a Virginia Beach vacation, while we were there, we ate at Our Peoples, with some friends of mine who are locals to OV. This was definitely a highlight of our trip. My entire trip up until stepping through the doors at Our Peoples was pretty lackluster as far dinning was concerned. This place really knocked my socks off!
I was welcomed by friendly staff right away, and they were very patient and helpful as we navigated an unfamiliar menu and restaurant.
The building is clean, spacious, well arranged, and tastefully decorated.
Now for the meat and potatoes, err, seafood?!
I ordered the bacon cheeseburger that has shrimp and lobster on the top (I forget the name), but I have to imagine there is some sort of sorcery in addition to the normal ingredients because it may very well have been the most delicious burger I’ve ever encountered, and this isn’t an exaggeration, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had. It‘s made me question everything I thought I knew about burgers, and quite possibly cuisine in general.
The portions were unbelievable considering the price which was shockingly affordable. I don’t know if this is just normal for OV compared to VB, but in Colorado (where I live), that amazing burger is $45 on the low end, and I paid $20 for it out there. Additionally, dad law requires me to eat my kids left overs if they exist, they had a chicken sandwich and it was straight fire as well.
In closing, if you have the opportunity to eat here, do it, do it everyday they’re open. Love their stuff, and I can’t wait to get back out there, if only for that sweet...
