One Love Jamaican Take Out — Restaurant in Norristown

I love Jamaican food and love oxtail.. so I wanted to give this place a try. Rightfully so I ordered 2 of the oxtail for me and my sister and 2 drinks.They asked what sides and I requested cabbage and plantain. No plantain and never gave us an option for another. I requested to purchase an additonal side of curry goat, but was told that I could not purchase as a side only as an additonal platter... something I have never heard of that before, a quite frankly disappointed by. All said and done it was 33 for it.. Go to pay they did not have a card option and and their atm was broken and then was requested to cash app them.. Get home and I must say the price DOES NOT match the flavor. It was a waste of money and time. They gravy was bland , the cabbage tasted like tap water ,and my drink tasted expired and I only ate the meat because I was STARVING (typically thats when even the most mediocre foods taste great). Tried this Jamaican spot last Thursday and grabbed a beef patty. Man, that joint came out flatter than a Krabby Patty. The outside wasn’t even baked right — only the edges had a little crust, the rest was soft and moist like it skipped the oven and went straight to the warmer.

I asked the young lady at the front what happened, and she said it just wasn’t under the lamp long enough. Huh? So does the lamp finish cooking it or something? I’m confused. The meat inside seemed cooked, but the crust had zero flake, zero crunch.

I literally ripped the patty open in front of her like, “What is this?” But I was starving, so I ate it anyway. Truth be told, I tore it up — but honestly, my conventional oven at home could’ve done way better. The pictures of the other beef patties posted is what I was looking forward to! Just don’t serve it if it’s not ready or whatever...

I went there for the 2nd time because I live an hour away...I called my order in a few minutes before pickup and asked for a large oxtails and to substitute the rice for the sweet potatoes and collard greens..when I arrived at the store..the lady so called owner told me I ordered a small platter...I insisted that I ordered a large..instead of giving me a large platter she said...I'll just add a little more meat...she added one more oxtail in the small platter and charged me a big platter price..I called her and told her I felt like she cheated me out of my money...at first she was going to give me a refund...and changed her mind and said I'll give you something back...Then she changed her mind again and become very argumentative..I told her to just keep the money and I wont be back there again...How unprofessional...She was very rude!!! And cheated me out...
