NEGATIVE STARS if possible. I watched the high school aged boy (maybe a girl, im unsure) drop a piece of chicken in my order onto what appeared to be an aluminum ledge holding bags or containers below the chicken pile, pick up the piece of chicken, and include it in the box of chicken which was my order. When I asked if that box was my order, the employee said yes. I told the employee to take out the piece of chicken that was dropped onto the ledge well below the food area, and he/she said, “I didnt drop it.” I informed the employee I watched the whole thing and I wasnt eating that piece of chicken. The employee then began to argue with me about the piece of chicken pointing to the area just above where the chicken fell, and stated, “It just dropped right there.” So now it did drop. A second ago, the chicken was not dropped. Rather than get a new box and start over, the employee threw the chicken (along with the dropped piece) back into the chicken staging area where someone else would now get a shot at eating a piece of chicken dropped into an area for paper/cardboard storage. The employee finished getting my order together, turned toward me and threw the platter onto the counter. The employee then bagged my food, and rather than apologize for being a liar and unprofessional, the employee said, “You have a good day my friend,” with a smirk.
Being that I have things in life to lose, common sense, and impulse control, I refrained from dragging the employee across the counter and giving him/her a life lesson. Young people these days have no respect, no common sense, and no shame. Who knows what else is dropped where at this place. I will never eat here again, nor should anyone else.
UPDATE: I contacted the Popey’s Corporate Office and received an email stating I would be contacted by the ownership or supervisory personnel at this store. I have never heard a word. As you can see, someone responded to my review in order to try to save face, but they really dont care. I would NOT eat at this place. Who knows what is done, or not done, to the food here before they throw it in a bag and...
Read more--2025 Edit back to 5 star-- Big improvement on service over last year, renovated/clean dinning area, more staff, better service (online/walk-in). This place became again very good choice for i-90 rest stop. It's nice to have some fried chicken before/after a trip to ski resorts or sno-parks.
---2022 Post 1 Star--- Don't rely on the google map or website for the OPEN HOURs. This place can either close any time due to not enough staff, or run out of food when you expect some food or service.
In this good location, there wasn't much alternative choices. Things may be worse, if you planned to come here use EV charger and enjoy chicken wings, or had decided to skip Snoqualmie restaurants, when head east to I-90 passes.
If they are open as you expected, the food and service can be great. However, they really had harder time to manage the business recently. 3 times out of last 5 visits (all summer weekend afternoon) they let us down. This week, I was charged over APP order before I head to the store. But they locked the door when I arrived to pick up, and refuse to service. After knocking window and waiting at side door, some one respond to me through window repeat "I don't have food" no matter what I talk. No sorry, no question, or any sign want to provide any help.
I had to blame the management. Can't you just be a bit smarter? And do whatever it needs to hire and keep good employees!!! If you had to close the shop, at least update the Map, social media, or anything that could indicate some customers that you are changing schedule due to shortage on anything. What about update online order system to stop accept order 1Hour (or any time) before your planned close. Personally, I don't even think you will need 3 front desk servers and people looking at dinning room. If you are short on staff, put improve the shift, focus on kitchen and just offer pickup/drive through.
Hope things get better, and I will give more stars if you don't let me down again...
Read moreI love Popeye's, let's just admit it, they are the original Chicken Sandwich masters. Many others have tried to replicate them but being first to market with a splendid product makes them in demand (like Apple Smartphone's a cult following others cannot replicate, even though there are better products out there). Now all Popeye's Chicken Restaurants are not created equal. Specifically this location Just outside of North Bend. What the what is going on with this place? First of all, no drive-thru I am aware of. People don't want to wait in lines going out the door and around the corner especially in soggy places west of the Cascades. Additionally, customer service is hugely lacking at this location. Not only did we stand in line for about 35 minutes, when we got to the counter, the staff was not organized, less than friendly, and if the quality of food wasn't as good as it was--it wouldn't be a two star rating. You've got a lot of work to do to get to average and above average. Luckily, there aren't many Popeye's Chicken competitors in the immediate area and the interstate and trucking traffic keeps bringing you unassuming and hungry customers who want a quality product or you'd guys would be in real trouble. Still, it's no reason to have poor customer service. Though your making money hand over fist, you could be exceptional, tremendous, and world-class. Need...
