Chicken King 16 - Belmont — Restaurant in North Carolina

Usually have a pleasant meal every time I eat here. Went by on the 4/2 and got 2-2piece meals both with only white meat, and took it to go. Once I got home and unpacked everything, I noticed that the chicken was goopy, slimy, nasty and just under cooked. The very next day, 4/3 I remembered to call them to let them know about the meals purchased the night before, although I was out of town on work from then to the following Wed on work business. Whomever I spoke with said they took my name and told me that they are so sorry for the unpleasant experience and told me I would for sure be able to get it replaced once returning from my out of town work trip. So I call back today to get above-mentioned replacements and I was hung up on 3x. FURTHERMORE I told the lady who answered the phone ALL 3x as such, but she acted like she didn't understand all that was being said and she has to call her boss to confirm. Ok great. she called BK and informed me because it was in fact a week later and I didn't make it known sooner, which I DID LET IT BE KNOWN! But because it was a week later (EVEN THOUGH I DID) THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. NOW I'M ALMOST 40 IN THE WHOLE NOW, AND ESSENTIALLY WASTED MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON SOMETHING I COULDN'T EVEN ENJOY, I'M PRETTY DISGUSTED, DISAPPOINTED AND JUST VERY PISSED OFF AT THE FACT THEY ARE REFUSING TO MAKE IT RIGHT, EVEN AFTER I LET IT BE KNOWN ABOUT PREVIOUS LADY TELLING ME IT WOULD FOR SURE BE REPLACED THE NEXT DAY. I FIND THAT PRETTY FRIGGING SAD NOT TO MENTION RIDICULOUS DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS PROMISED TO GET BOTH REPLACED ONCE BEING BACK IN TOWN FROM WORK BUSINESS TRIP THAT I COULD PICK UP THE ALMOST $40 IN FOOD THAT WAS ESSENTIALLY WASTED CONSIDERING I NEVER EVEN GOT TO ENJOY ANY OF THE FOOD THAT WAS BOUGHT AND PAID FOR. BEYOND HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND VERY DISSATISFIED AS I THOUGHT MORE OF THE OWNER AND EMPLOYEES AND ALSO THE FACT THAT I'M A PRETTY REGULAR CUSTOMER. DISGUSTED AT THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOLLOW THROUGH AFTER BEING PROMISED...

I discoerd Chicken King today by accident. I was craving some southern fried chicken. They cook it by order do I had to wait 20 minutes but that it was worth it to get fresh fried chicken. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The best fried chicken I've had in a long time. Tasted like it came out my mom's kitchen. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Okra and Mac and cheese was delicious too. Service was friendly and nice. This is one of those hidden lirrle gems. I've lived in Mt Holly 18 years and didn't know it was there. I give it 5 stars. Hats off...

Don't eat there till they train the new cook or at least inspector your food. The guy managed to screw up a bacon cheeseburger. It was so dry and overcooked I asked for lettuce, tomato, and onion. I ended up with almost no lettuce, no tomato at all, and a whole lot of onion. Pretty much, the entire burger was covered in onion. When I called, I was told that it did not matter because I didn't pay for the tomato. But I did pay for the burger, and it was nasty. For over $12, you can get better cheeseburger pretty...
