We love going to The Thirsty Dog a few times a week and highly recommend this place. I currently don't have a dog to take but enjoy petting the ones there. The bar is stocked with wide selection of craft beers (currently 31) with mixed drinks and wine options. They also have non alcoholic selections. They have trivia every Tuesday and just had a Karaoke night that hopefully will continue. The staff is awesome and the owners have lots of expansion plans in the works for their outdoor space. I can't wait to see all of their plans completed.

In order to offer what they have to the public it is considered a private club with $1/day pass or $10/annual pass for humans. Dogs must also have a separate membership and be up to date on their vaccines, making it safe for all the other dogs.

They currently have 3 sections. One outdoor area is specifically for leased dogs and is family friendly. Another outdoor area is for those dogs who are also spayed/neutered and can run around off the leash. The outdoor areas are heated, as needed. They also have a huge indoor space. All areas have access and seating to the large indoor bar, which I love.

They have lot of TVs to watch any sports events you are interested in.

They have a variety of food trucks scheduled and usually have daily drink specials. Check out their Facebook page for special events, drink specials and the food truck scheduled...

We LOVE Thirsty Dog! We are getting ready to move from Steele Creek to the Belmont area and wanted to find a local place to meet new people where we could take our dog. Since going for the first time, we have been back multiple times, even though it is a 20 minute drive (our move isn't until August). The manager/bar tender (I THINK her name is Jenny - tall/blond) is SO nice and knowledgeable about all of their drinks. They have so much to offer. My husband loves stouts and porters, which we haven't found as many of on restaurant menus since moving to NC. But Thirsty Dog has a great selection! I'm constantly surprised by all the fun activities and fun drinks they have. The other weekend I had a boozy milkshake (it was awesome!). We have met a couple of great new friends since going. It isn't perfect - it is still being worked on - but you can tell that the owner is creative and cares. And that's what I love most about it. It feels grassroots and makes me feel like I'm part of a community. I can't wait to see where it continues to go. We are going tonight, and I can't wait to see what exciting drink creation they will have come up with, or whose singing, what food truck will be there, or what new friendship...

We are very picky with where we take our pups and this place is outstanding!!! The staff in particular Carla treats our pups like they are her own. The owners take the time to love on your dogs and speak to you. They almost always have food trucks, events, and permit food delivery. At a time where most breweries and restaurants in Charlotte are not permitting your fur kids to come inside with you, this place has become our go to. Upon entering if you have a pup be prepared to provide all health credentials. It’s well worth purchasing the annual membership, and peace of mind knowing your pups are in the company of responsible pet owners. It’s clean, well maintained, vast drink menu, popcorn from my favorite popcorn shop “tastebuds popcorn”. Whether you live in Charlotte/Gastonia area or are passing by with your pups during your travels this is by far our favorite...

It was an awesome atmosphere just as good if not better than the other dog bars we've patronized in the past. This place is our new go to and it's only going to get better over time! Side note doesn't affect the review but for the dog parents if your fur baby like mine. Plays hard (Zoomie's, Chasing, Rolling around) doing what dogs do. The concrete outside is not sealed so their paw pads might get a little scraped up. UPDATE: This place has become a destinations for both people and pet in North Belmont. With Kareoke night, Food Trucks and great drinks and atmosphere. If you love your pet and want to have a good time as well this is the place to be!

This is by far my favorite bar in Belmont (and tied for first for the Charlotte area). The staff is always super friendly. Lots of TVs inside and out, so there’s no “fighting” for screen time when your out of state team is playing. Beer list is top notch and the cocktails are delish as well! There’s almost always a food truck out front, but there’s snacks as well. Ladies, the bathroom is def ‘gram worthy. Not to mention all the doggos and puppers and majestic floofs. Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in the area. And grab a super cute tie dye shirt to support a local business.
