I would really love to give a good review. I am local and have had quite a few not so great experiences here. So I rarely stop in. But every 6 months or so, I come back to see if anything has changed…. And I can’t say it has. They’ve recently taken things off the menu that was the only entrees we ever ordered. So that was very disappointing. No more burnt ends. So we decided not to order anything at all. But we got our daughter a chicken chunk meal. Which does not include a drink. I don’t believe any drinks come with any meals. It’s all separate. The menu hasn’t changed at all, except for taking the best items off. I wish they had specials of the day! They built such a beautiful outside sitting area outside. I would love to enjoy it if they took more pride into the food that goes out, and offered either daily specials and added new sides. A fresh veggie side. And more potato options. The chicken chunks are normally good, but we all ate a piece of our daughters chicken and we all did not feel good the rest of the night. It reminded me of a certain old employee that warned us not to ever order the chicken or anything fried there, because they do not change the oil often and they give their unsold chicken to the gas station next door, to sit under a heat lamp all day. So against my better judgement we did order chicken, and sure enough, my husband, myself and daughter all had upset stomach. If the owner sees this, I’d suggest maybe a fb post to see what can be changed. I have a huge family right here in Coinjock that does not ever get your business. And we love to support local businesses. Ask the locals here for advice and with the right changes, you’ll be steady busy all year round with a crowd of people that live within 5 miles. I will update my review soon. (Staff is always so friendly and attentive and really welcoming even under pressure with...

Sheila and I dined at Currituck BBQ Company for lunch today, and we found it to be about the best North Carolina barbecue we had ever tasted. Not only was her barbecue chicken dinner delicious, my pulled pork barbecue sandwich crowned with really first-class cole slaw on a bun that did not fall apart or become sodden as I ate it would have been worth substantially more by itself than Currituck BBQ Company charged—yet both dinner and sandwich came each with two sides! Both of us chose fried okra as one of our sides; Sheila chose fresh beets as her other side, and I had the potato salad. Portions were quite generous—we asked for boxes to bring much of it home, and bought an extra pound of the pork barbecue to share with our son Chris when we got home to Virginia.

I see many reviewers have been here before me and have already raved at how friendly all the employees are, how spotless the restaurant is, how perfectly and attractively prepared EACH ITEM (including the hush puppies that came with Sheila’s plate) IS. As I grew up in Raleigh, I can only tell you that this experience, which happened to fall on May 10, 2022, our 47th Wedding Anniversary, actually carried me back to the fine cooking I was enjoying seventy years ago in North Carolina’s Capital City, and I was very proud that chefs at Currituck BBQ Company were maintaining so well what I consider a precious heritage. Incidentally, Currituck BBQ Company was awarded a “Best of Currituck” Award in 2021–I doubt it was the first time—but it shows that even their friends and neighbors recognize their worth in and to the community. Well...

We chose the Outer Banks for a destination wedding and had the arduous task of providing food for our guests without having tasted it first. We decided on BBQ and began intently searching for a restaurant that could provide the service and quality fit for a wedding. We needed a delivery and set up service with a variety of options on the menu. After searching through copious amounts of online reviews, we decided on Currituck BBQ - even though they were ~45 minutes away and we had several options within blocks of our wedding venue. Every rave review they've received was incredibly accurate with regards to their professionalism, timeliness, and hospitality! As for the food, we had herb baked chicken, ribs, pulled pork bbq, green bean casserole, Cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, hush puppies and the most delicious bacon wrapped scallops! We wound up eating an hour later than intended due to the inevitable delays of a wedding, and everything was still steaming hot and nothing was dried out. Every single one of our guests enjoyed their meal and we could not have been happier with every aspect of what Currituck BBQ provided for us. At the end of the day, it was fantastic food at a reasonable price with outstanding service, and we couldn't be more pleased that it wasn't something we had to stress about on our...

The girl was nice and friendly but the food my wife brought was not what she expected a BBQ sandwich should be... I ordered a slice of cheese cake separately from the original order and that was good!!! Two slices of that was 11.09 , my wife got the pork BBQ sandwich platter that was 10.32... cheese cake worth it, sandwich hmmmmm not so much...
