Follow up to my initial post. It gets worse ... I reached out to the email that Dickie's corporate provided to my review here with pictures of the meal and my receipt for almost $60. I was sent a canned response and a coupon for a single bbq sandwich! This after notifying them that I was made aware that the coleslaw was a month past it's expiration date and that other health violations were found. That's $60 down the drain. I asked for a supervisor to follow up and have not heard back from anyone. Truly, a BIG FAIL, ALL the way around DICKIE'S!
EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN HEALTH RISK!
I have a Dickie's restaurant near where I live in GA so when we saw there was one in Waynesville, we stopped here to pick up take-out for dinner. We ordered a platter of different meats and some sides and three loaded potato spuds.
Unfortunately, all the meats were dried out, the cole slaw was rancid and the potatos were brown inside and hard like they had been cooked days before and then reused and they were cold. There was very little butter, sour cream or chives on the LOADED potatos. The Texas Toast was not toasted and barely warm.
We ended up throwing everything away and going out elsewhere to get something to eat.
In addition, the bathroom toilet was disgusting and there was no soap, no towels, and it was nearly out of toilet paper. When I said something to the woman behind the counter, she said customers did that to the bathroom. What?!
Before we left, I asked for some extra bbq sauce and she had such an attitude that I wanted a few more. They gave us three small containers of sauce for all that food. That was the final straw.
I will NEVER go back to this location again and Dickie's corporate should be ashamed of having this proprietor as one of their...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for a bite at Dickey’s on our way home from a mountain trip. I’d always wanted to try Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and I figured “why not now” as we came to it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were immediately greeted. We placed our order and the food arrived to our table quickly. The food was amazing! My wife had a chicken sandwich and added some spicy sauce to it. She said it was phenomenal. The chicken was so moist and tender. It broke apart like a fish filet. It’s hard to get chicken that tender but somehow they did! I had brisket and ribs and absolutely loved them. I enjoy smoking my own meats from time to time so I’m generally picky when it comes to my smoked meats. The brisket and ribs did not disappoint. I had mac and cheese and the loaded baked potato casserole as my sides. Both were fresh and delicious. My wife stuck with the fresh cut fries to accompany her sandwich. She would have been in heaven with a little malt vinegar but she said they were amazing without it. She said they were some of the best fresh cut fries she’s ever had. She also really enjoyed her sweet tea hat came with her combo. As we ate, the pit master himself, Big T (Tony), came out to check on us. He was super friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to him. The ladies working checked on us as well. We appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the entire staff. We were there right around noon and they had a low crowd. I can’t understand why because our experience was amazing and the food was quality! Apparently, the new owners just took over earlier this year. I encourage anyone who is considering a visit to hurry over to Dickey’s! My wife and I will be back with our kids in tow to eat Labor Day week and...
Read moreI placed an order online, I showed up at the time given to me for pickup. The order was not made, I was informed they were out of potatoes, burnt ends and brisket so they wanted to know what to swap it for.
I asked for a full refund since nothing was made and they cancelled half of my order. I was informed they could not do that at the store, to call corporate at almost 8pm on Saturday to fix it. Corporate was unavailable, surprised face inserted here.
After almost 30 minutes they magically found potatoes and burnt ends. Still no brisket. I was lied to about my order intentionally, corporate was no help and I consider this a piss poor attempt at fraud for service's not rendered. The food was horrible, but the treatment I received was enough to make you want to picket in front of the restaurant.
I do realize mistakes do happen and things do sell out, this was not the case. I was deceived and expected to not hold my ground. I'm not sure the intention of this, but regardless this is shady way to operate in the open. I hope this is not a regular occurrence to visitors of Maggie Valley, a common practice of deception and theft.
I left a generous tip as well, mostly because I felt bad for the employees and wanted to see the good in them. But upon reflecting back upon all the chaos and different people I dealt with in a short time that was me hoping and not...
