My daughter decided she wanted to try this place since it was a newer restaurant and see how it was. Well when we got there we were seated almost immediately then set there several minutes before being ask about drinks. They weren't terribly busy, but it looked like they may of been short staffed because our waitress had tables in multiple places. This wasn't a big deal since we were still waiting on a few people to show up. Once they arrived it took roughly 10 minutes before the waitress came over to take their drink order. We got the Chicken Alfredo, Buffalo chicken wrap, Chicken quesadilla, and Broiled catfish. The Chicken Alfredo was a big heaping of noodles and sauce with some grilled chicken. The chicken in it was delicious! The noodles and alfredo sauce not so much. It lacked seasoning and especially garlic. It was very bland tasting. The Buffalo Chicken wrap was a good size, but was very runny with I'm guessing water from the lettuce that wasn't dried off after washing. This kinda killed the flavor and made it soggy to try and eat. The chicken quesadilla was decent sized, but lacked much flavor and only a tiny thing of salsa came with it. The lettuce and tomatoes that came with it looked old and she didn't eat it. My catfish was bland, but the broiled stuff tends to be that too be on the healthier side so I didn't mind and with the lemon juice it helped add a zing to it. Three people got fries and they were basically thrown in a frier then put on a plate with zero seasoning. Overall our first visit was a bust and likely our last visit! For the prices you'd think they could throw a little seasoning on the food to make it appetizing! I recommend you seek elsewhere for dinner if you want flavorful food and...
Read moreWe really wanted to like this place. That being said the food prices are okay at 5 to $8 a plate. That is exactly where the good part of this place ends. They charge $5 for a cup of OJ. OJ's the cheapest thing that you can get at the grocery store. There were several items that seemed to have been sitting out in a steamy environment for quite some time including the bacon and toast. The bacon was shriveled and nasty and texture and flavor. The toast was a limp which I've never seen before. The pancakes were more of a lumpy consistency with way too much vanilla in them. The omelette included way too much nasty tasting hollandaise sauce so he couldn't enjoy it. The grits was the most grittiest al dente grits I've ever had my entire life. The sunny side eggs actually came out okay but I assume it's because they couldn't just let it set out in a steamy environment somewhere and serve it from there. The service was also pretty bad in that the guy only checked in on twice after we received our food one of which was to give us the ticket. As we were fairly new to North Carolina we tend to give any new businesses a fair shot and we gave this business a fair shot for breakfast we will not be going there again and do not recommend anyone go there until sometime has passed and they get their footing and that being said if this is their footing then I cannot see the business flourishing. Lastly due to the fact that the drinks are $5 a piece with the cheapest possible drink imaginable I cannot recommend them on price either as it went from costing less than most places to more than most places with the drinks...
Read moreSo, read the reviews and they were mixed. Decided to give this new to Statesville restaurant a try for breakfast. There were maybe 4 tables with patrons seated and several waitresses working (about 10am on a weekday morning). Ordered, the Breakfast Skillet ($10.99) and a side of sausage gravy ($2.99), coffee and water. The sausage gravy had very little sausage in it and tasted like it had been made with water (very bland). The Breakfast Skillet wasn't any better. The onions and peppers had a "pickled" taste and definitely were not cut fresh, the cheese was too "sharp," the sausage was on the salty side and you couldn't taste any of the normal spices you would normally taste in sausage, eggs were overcooked (ordered scrambled soft) and there was no bread brought out with the meal. Huge amount of potatoes (seasoned more for a lunch/dinner side, not breakfast). Coffee was fair. Waitresses were attentive, but when asked how the meal was and the only response given was "ok," no one bothered to ask why it was just "ok." Eventually, asked for a biscuit (the best part of the meal) and finished the overcooked eggs. When asked if a to go box was needed for the huge amount food that was left on the plate, and replied no thank you, no one bothered to ask if there was any thing wrong with the meal. Went to pay and was again asked how the meal was, just ok again and no question as to why it was just ok. Yes, it was huge amount of food, service was good. Food left A LOT to be desired. Total bill $18+ change plus a generous tip. This meal was a disappointment and will not return for breakfast. Maybe lunch and...
