Hwy 29 Grill — Restaurant in North Carolina

I would highly recommend this little diner. It's everything you'd expect of a diner. Service was prompt and very friendly. We ordered, with help and suggestions from the staff. We only had a short wait for food. It came out hot and fast. My wife ordered the chopped steak with grilled onions and gravy, mashed potatoes and vegetables. She really enjoyed her meal. She actually moaned with her first few bites. It was that good. I ordered a double cheese burger. I should have just gotten a single burger. The double was so big. Everything was delicious.

The place was ok nothing special.. I got the chicken yes it was big pieces however there was no seasoning in the food. Its suppose to be home cooking but mashed potatoes was definitely from a box and the green beans were definitely from the can.. I haven't been able to eat the strawberry cake that I got but I hope it's good. My boyfriend got the beef with fries and coleslaw. I DNT like eat coleslaw but his looked nasty,not like regular coleslaw. I wish I would've took a pic of the menu we're it said u have to add salt for 50 cent. I thought that was crazy. Omg the sea food platter was delicious!!! Best hush puppies ever and the stuff crab was so fresh just full of flavor. Homemade tater sauce and coleslaw. The cook even brought another one out since the platter only came with one. So we both would have one. I'm telling you we enjoyed every bit of the platter. The atmosphere was so laid back and comfortable. Don't let this side of the road restaurant fool you it's been around along time and is a staple to the local community between Kings Mountain and Grover NC.
