BEWARE of service.
It's been years since my original review and based off yesterday's service, I figured it was time to update it.
I come here about once a month, so that's not enough to be remembered by any staff, for better or for worse. In most cases, the service is fairly good, but yesterday's visit made me feel like I was an inconvenience to the staff.
It was about 5:20pm, and the place wasn't busy at all. It didn't take me long to be seated. The person who sat me took care of my drink, and even took my order. I never got any chips. Usually they bring you chips as soon as you sit down. I waited a few minutes. Got some salsa (for chips) and walked back, asking my server how I can get some chips. He looked up from his phone and pointed to a table of ladies sitting down, also on their phones. Yo, that's the wrong answer. While I don't know who's exact job it is to bring the chips, are you my server or not? I can ask you for a drink, or for food, but if I ask for chips, you direct me to other people? I walked over to the table of ladies, and asked how I can get some chips. They all just started looking around, and an older lady came up and I mentioned to her I needed some chips, and she seemed like she was going to take care of it. Five minutes later, I get my food and I still had no chips. The person who brought my food seemed to be like the only person there on top of their game. As soon as he brought my dish, and saw I didn't have chips, he started asking about my chips, to which point, chips arrived promptly. I appreciate him taking care of that, but he shouldn't have had to. Unfortunately, I didn't really eat much of them because I didn't want to let my food get cold trying to eat the chips that I should've gotten when I sat down.
I've worked on the other side before, so I know what it's like. You should never make the customer feel like an...
Read moreFirst time I have ordered from here. I used the online ordering tool and had it delivered. Which means I paid an extra delivery fee. Since it was not going to be eaten right away I asked for all sauces and sour cream to be on the side. When the two burritos were delivered we received everything but those side items.
I called and I was told that they would see if the delivery guy could bring them to me and if not they would call me and let me know. Or I could come and pick them up, which negates the whole purpose of ordering for delivery and paying the fee. I asked if they could give me a credit. The manager replied that they could not but that they would add them to a future delivery, I would say gratis but I did paid for it. I said to let me know.
About forty minutes later, after no call back, I called and told them I would like to have them include these items on a future order. The manager that I dealt with earlier was too busy to talk to me. That alone is worth not coming back, since I am not worth their time and effort on two scores. That is not good for business. I am not mad and venting my spleen, in the bigger scheme of things this is minor. It just isn't good customer service.
In the service economy, first impressions are hard to reverse. After reading other reviews, I want to believe that this is just a one off experience. Having done customer service most of my life I understand how hard it can be. But the attempt to treat every customer as a first time customer has to be made. And every effort should be made to make the experience a good one if something was done wrong. I hope the owner and manager read this...
Read moreI was just passing through town and decided to stop here for dinner. The food was pretty excellent which was a nice surprise. I had combination dinner 12 which includes 2 enchiladas, 1 chile relleno, with rice and beans. The enchiladas are homemade as well as the sauce which was delicious. The only thing that would have made it better is if there was a little more enchilada sauce on it. The chili relleno was very legit with a whole stuffed chili versus some places that just use half of one or just use chopped chili. The salsa bar was the icing on the cake for me with multiple fresh salsa options. I tried 3 of them which were the molcajete, avocado, and a spicy cream salsa that I forgot the actual name of. I loved all 3 salsas I tried. These salsas are superior to your typical garden variety salsas most Mexican restaurants offer. The molcajete salsa looks like a typical salsa you would eat with chips but this one has a nice roasted flavor that is well balanced with less acidic taste and not overly salty. The spicy cream salsa is my favorite but so few Mexican restaurants have it. The avocado salsa was cool and creamy which was nice after the heat from the spicy salsa built up on me. Since they have a salsa bar they bring a bean dip to your table which was a nice touch for someone like me that appreciates a good warm bean dip on a cold day like today. My server was a young man who was nice and very attentive. I plan to come here again when I am back...
