Cruising down to OBX and hungry for lunch, our typical spot was closed; for some reason wanting Mexican, most of the Mexican places looked a bit rundown. Not sure if I can say that Los Antojitos sets itself apart in that aspect, but the big, bright, orange building is definitely hard to miss! A quick look at their reviews, and we were enticed. This will definitely be a spot we will aim to stop at on every trip down to OBX now!! They were incredible. At first glance at the menu, we noticed everything was priced great, and it was hard to decide what to get - an amazing problem to have. I ordered the Torta Al Hambre, and my wife got the chicken flautas. The torta Al hambre blew my mind; oh my gosh it was incredible. Like a deluxe Mexican philly cheesesteak, it was so salty and savory and fatty and felt fresh all at the same time. After nearly every bite I couldn’t help but let out an involuntary “Mmmmmmm!!!” With wide eyes, too. And the chicken flautas were like all the best Mexican food; so simple, but just delicious. It all tasted so fresh, and didn’t leave us feeling weighed down, like you usually would with food this good. As we waited and ate, we watched as more and more Mexican contractors came in to eat, on a Saturday for lunch - that’s how you know your Mexican place is legit. To top it all off, they were Christian, and played Christian music the whole time. I won’t get into my opinions about the particular Christian music they were playing, but when a restaurant is this good, and believes what you believe, you just have to celebrate! We picked up takeout on our way home, and needless to say, we can’t wait for our next opportunity to visit this absolutely gem. Very highly recommend!!

Cesar was our waiter, he was very friendly and the the service was great. We couldn’t believe how fast our food came out! We ordered the carnitas street tacos and the cheese enchiladas rancheros, the carnitas was so tender and flavorful. OMG… both were very good!!! We also ordered a side of guacamole. We’re very picky and it did not disappoint. It was perfecto! Highly recommend this place!!!

AMAZING!! AUTHENTIC Mexican food. The Mosh Quesadillas were made with homemade tortillas and incredibly delicious. The Elote was HOT and mouth watering!! The California burrito was HUGE and packed with flavor. A DEFINITE place to stop either coming or going to OBX. As a local, I cant believe I haven't been here until now. I will be back very soon.

I don't usually write reviews, but I truly felt like this place needed one telling the truth. If I had two words to describe this place, they would be simply, Don't Go. My daughter and I decided to check this place out after it opened down the road from our house. As we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the tacky decor, everything on the walls straight from Party City. But you know what, I won't hold that against them. They're new, you know? Our waitress was great, the only reason why they're not getting one star. Now the food. The food was, well, lackluster. We got tamales as an appetizer, and they were mediocre at best. We waited about fourty five minutes for a simple quesadilla and tacos, and when they finally got to us, they were small. Like, really small. I got three tacos, all tiny, with only chicken and cilantro. No cheese, no nothing. Nothing on the side, just three tacos with damn near uncooked tortillas. Now my daughters quesadilla was also very sad. It was smaller than my hand, and there was only one on the plate with a tiny bowl of pico de gallo. No rice, no beans, just the smallest quesadilla you've ever seen cut unevenly and sitting by itself on a plate. Needless to say, we both left hungry, my wallet twenty five dollars lighter. Overall, I would NOT recommend you go here. If you want mexican and to leave not still hungry, just go the extra few miles up to El Portrillo and have a much more...

The Chicarron Prepparado was absolutely delicious. I will be back just to eat it again. Nice and crispy with good fresh toppings. The salsa for the chips not very good because it only tasted like crushed tomatoes. I find it hard to believe it is always like that though. I think someone must have made it bad this particular day. My wife's chilaquiles were very tasty with the recommended mild red sauce. She did note that her chicken "which you pay extra for" was kinda dry. The chicken seemed to be grilled to order. My chilaquiles "which I got with perfectly cooked over easy eggs" were not so great. I also received chicken on mine (did not ask for) with mine which I thought was weird but ate anyways. I was recommended the spicy sauce to be used in making mine and was disappointed that it was the same lackluster salsa used for the complementary chips and salsa but just peppers added to it. As a result, the dish was bland and soupy yet very spicy. The rice for both hers and my dish was not a priority in the kitchen lol. The waitress was fantastic and very good with our children. I did let her know everything I am writing here. There many other things on the menu I do want to try so...
