First time visit, needed to order in and carry out though the atmosphere was warm and interesting. The people working and visiting were friendly - it was a good experience while we waited.
Let's start with dessert. Killing time waiting for my order, I noticed 3 wedged shaped (deep fried?) things on the the 3rd tier of a small case at the register. The other 2 tiers were empty. It was late in the day. Whatever it was, I had to have one by the looks of it - I was told they were cherry (turnovers?).
It was apple, but probably the best apple pie/cobbler/turnover I've ever had in my life. I'm not young...
I inhaled it while I waited for dinner. I don't need another reason to 5 star this place. I will visit again just to try whatever else they put in that case - it was near closing when I arrived. This place is worth a visit just for dessert. It was warm and there was a scoop of vanilla ice cream with it.
I had two brisket choices - dry or wet, went with wet - it was outstanding. Incredible bark yet moist and smoky. Just perfect. I could go on and on. The Brisket Is Top Notch Perfect.
The chicken was similar sans the bark, the fried okra my wife ordered was delicious (I didn't think I like fried okra but I liked this - we ate them like french fries on the drive home with no dipping required).
The pulled pork was a bit dry and needed some sauce and the cole slaw wasn't my fav but I finished it all.
I'll be back to check out some other things on the menu, but there's little doubt I'll be around from time to time for at least the brisket, chicken, turnovers and fried okra.
Oh, and that sweet potato was perfect too. Lotsa good food here, I mean really good food. Really,...
Read moreThis was my second visit to RIb Country .In fact I picked this place to travel to from our home in Sevierville tn for a Father's day meal to take back to our room in Cherokke nc because it was so good the first time .I called when they opened to make sure they were open and to see how to order so it was ready when I got there in 1 hr 15 min .he said to order and he would let kitchen know to wait and have it ready then .we arrived and the girl said she would go check and see and came back and said they were working on it after going to the car and waiting 45 min I went back in and another girl said she would go check and came back and said it was almost ready after waiting another 20 min she finally came out with my bags .Now if this was all that was wrong I wouldn't be writing a negative review I'd be writing a positive one which I fully planned on doing if the food was the same quality .We get back to the room and there was no Texas toast in the bag and the main thing there was no sliced brisket which the original man that took the order asked if I wanted lean or with fat .The brisket was one if the main reasons I chose Rib country for fathers day .I called and talked to Renee and after waiting 10 min on the phone to get a manager she told me that a Manager would call me by the end of the day with no resolution .NO ONE CALLED that day or ANY DAY ! now I'm torn whether I ever want to return or recommend this resteraunt .I thought I had...
Read moreI like barbecue, especially ribs. We ate a small breakfast, sort of late, but walked up a good appetite by noon. We left our last attraction site and started a search for an early supper. This place filled the bill far above expectations. The parking lot was full and I was doubtful. The hostess said it would be 15 minutes and we needed to wait outside or in our vehicles. (Stupid Covid19 insanity!) We sat on the porch and waited---but it was only 5 minutes, tops! We were led to the perfect table for our group and the drink order was taken by a sweet young lady. A young man returned with the drinks, introduced himself, explained the personnel change, and took our food order. Thus began one of my best dining-out experiences. We ordered and ate a lot of food, giving Jackson a run for the money, but he was such a blessing. I enjoy a waiter who will react and interact. Jackson served us well---and earned a nice tip. Every food item was incredibly delicious. I ate enough to kill a horse, leaving no room for dessert, but Jackson offered blackberry cobbler and immediately won my wife. She couldn't finish it, so I sacrificed and finished it for her. It was a good thing she ate all she could first because if I had gotten first bite she would never gotten a taste. That cobbler was so good it must be illegal! We plan to be back in the area in July, and we will be dining here at least once! Sure hope Jackson...
