Ugh. I’m writing this review so the restaurant can work on the negatives. Picked this spot as it was close to the hotel and reviews seemed okay. I found a review mentioning the pot roast sandwhich. It was quoted as “spectacular” I’m glad I ordered it. It was quite tasty. Lots of tender beef, mushrooms, sautéed onions and a decent gravy with melted Swiss. I got it with the pubs fries which were hot and crispy. I also got 6 “hangover” wings which were really tasty. Decent size and the flavour was baked on. Now, the not so great. My wife ordered the chicken parm. Have a look at the pic….no parm. WHAT?? I have never seen a parm like this. The chicken was chopped up and mixed in the the penne noodles with dollops of sauce. Zero seasoning. When it arrived, it was pretty cold. No worries, she asked it just be reheated. It was back within a minute or so and was warm. I had asked for a steak sauce or bbq sauce- “ no sorry we don’t” . Only tobacco. This place overall will feed be masses with no issues, but please serve a proper dish if it’s on the menu. It appeared they were training a server. I overheard them at another table and she had been serving for over 18 years there. She will be missed as she’s moving on. Her trainee was a deer in the headlights. I get it. We have all been new to a job, but you can tell this isn’t a fit. Our served was very polite, but again, didn’t know what beers were on tap etc. I think they are working on the decor. Some things look refabricated. The booth benches are brutal (worn out with hole etc) as are the curtains (badly stained and dishevelled) easy fix though and would go along way. We stay at this hotel each time we drop our daughter off to college. Hoping by next year I can provide a more...

We were seated quickly. We then waited 20 min for our order to be taken. Constantly had to ask for refills. Salads were forgotten. Waiter did not know soup of the day. Food came out, 2 dishes then several min later last one came. 1 plate was dirty.. On my plate of pasta (chicken Alfredo) there had been sticky brown food hardened to the plate..When I pointed it out to the waiter, he said, "well that must have happened on the line, but it's ok, or did you still want another plate?" I told him please replace the meal. He brought another plate out 2 minutes later with the same pasta slid onto another plate... Which I wasn't happy with, I decided to just try it bc we were there with a friend and did not want cause a scene. I asked for more sauce. They said no because it is portioned out. I took one bite, and it was cold. I told him it was cold, he asked if I wanted it warmed up. I told him to take it away I could not eat.. Never asked if I wanted anything else. He finally brought out My salad after our friend asked him again for it. It was about a cup of wilted romaine lettuce and cheese. I ate it as I was hungry. They charged me $4 for it. The other meal beef tips on egg noodles was barely warm. Had four bites and that was half the serving. The beef was like Denty Moore beef stew meat. Gravy was salty. The meals were like the frozen microwave dinners. Not worth $14.

Soup was chicken parm. It was ok. Noodles over cooked but fair seasoning.

Our friend ordered the fried perch. Had to ask 3 x for ketchup but said the fish and baked potato was fine.

Neither the cook or manager came out to talk about the meal. It was as if they did not care.

Only reason we did not walk out is because we were...

This place was horrible!! We should have walked out from the first minute we talked to Stephanie who was rude from the start. She asked can I help you and I replied table for 4. Her reply was "you need to go stand behind those people" in the snarkiest rudest manner possible and just points a finger to the door. Apparently, not knowing the other party told us to go ahead of them. Stephanie, waited on our table and I'm guessing after realizing her mistake says that she thought we were cutting in front of them.

The open faced turkey and biscuit had absolutely NO taste at all and very little turkey. They served an alleged quarter lb. burger that was smaller than any quarter lb. burger that I've had and didn't have the bacon on it as ordered.

My wife ordered the Walleye fish dinner and they tried to pass off Perch. The perch was fishy tasting which suggests it was not fresh. When I mention it to Stephanie she did not look happy copped an attitude but took it off the bill. She never offered to bring the correct dish or anything else. She told us that we would be charged for the fries! My wife did not eat many because they were served cold. She never got a plate of food after traveling all day. We get the bill and we were charged for a salad that we never ordered or received. She tells us that the cole slaw was a salad. HOW REDICULOUS!. She takes that off the bill. We get the bill and she charges SOMEONE ELSES bill to our card.

I would NEVER eat in New Harvest restaurant again. Terrible service, bland food, questionable fish, small servings and a waitress with no clue what customer...

Unreal. As a restaurautuer I understand being short staffed. I get it. I'll never complain about times when anyone is short staffed. However, when the service and the food is this bad, I have to say something. Staying next door at the hotel our first dinner there on Friday was decent. The time it took to get drinks and food was over an hour. Forgiven because the food was good and the server said she was brand new. However, tonight was unbelievable. We ordered a Reuben and got what was definitely a take on a steak sandwich with onions, mushrooms, and some weird cheese mixture on garlic bread. When I finally got the servers attention she literally almost touched the sandwich with her fingers and said no that's a ruebin see ? I am literally embarrassed for the industry seeing that this restaurant is operating. I am a CCM, CMC, and certified restaurateur. In the end arguing with this establishment was not worth it. I tipped this server 26%> Grabbed the last of the bottle of local wine that took me over a half hour to receive, and left. Absolutely disgusting and shameful on the owner's part that you allow this food to be served l. You don't deserve to own a restaurant if you can't work it.

I was visiting the area for the first time, lodging at The Holiday Inn Express so I decided to try the on site New Harvest Restaurant. I decided to have an early dinner so I arrived at the restaurant around 3:15PM on a weekday afternoon. It was a seat yourself arrangement at the time so I selected a table and was immediately greeted by staff who took my drink order of a glass of ice water. I chose the beef pot roast dinner and requested that the mushrooms not be included with the order which they were happy to oblige. The order came out within 10 minutes and it was delicious....Pot roast with carrots and onions over mashed potatoes with gravy and a couple slices of bread on the side. For dessert, I chose a slice of cookies and cream pie which was also delicious. To sum up, good food and friendly prompt service and I plan to dine at this establishment again on future visits to the area.
