If you head into Pub 20, be prepared to be there quite a while before you get much service. We were there 20 minutes before getting our drinks, 40 minutes before our actual order was placed, so our whole stay was over an hour. It was not a busy place at all, maybe 2 or 3 other tables were occupied and the bar was not busy at all. I have to say, the scallop dish here at Pub 20 was really good! The scallops had the gritty in them, which was distracting, but they had good flavor and were tender. The veal parmesan was yummy but luke warm. The kids' grilled cheese came out with the rest of the meal, but the one child's meal with the hot dog arrived way late. Everyone was half done by the time it arrived. I would not return to the Pub 20 mainly due to the service, then the high prices for the amount of food you get.

Stop in and check it out. Our mixed drinks were great. The service was very fast and very friendly. My Cincinnati chili was real good (first time so don't judge). The mozzarella sticks were typical but very cheesy which was a plus. The missus didn't like her chicken sandwich that much and messed up with her fries. She got them Greek style and was thinking traditional Greek...not some meat thing. That's a local thing that you need to know about going in. It was her fault ;) It's an old school restaurant atmosphere, but I like that.

Spent Labor Day weekend in Erie and wanted to give Pub 20 a try while we were on the East End of town. I must say their deck had the perfect ambience, waitress was extremely pleasant & responsive, and the food was excellent. We both had Honey Pepper Chicken Mac&Cheese (hand breaded chicken!). Would definitely return, as their menu had a wide variety of intriguing options we didn't get to try. A must stop when on the wine trail!

PLEASE NOTE I "NEVER" ever leave a bad review for any business, but this place should not be permitted to operate in Pennsylvania. This evening I wanted to try a different place to eat so I looked the Ruffled Grouse up online and found that their grilled chicken salads were $12.00, so I ordered 2 of them for take out. Much to my surprise upon checkout they were $18.00 each. NOTE; this place is not located in New York City or Los Angeles, but in a small town of average people with average incomes. I called the place back to see if this price was a mistake and she replied; "No that is not our prices online", but if you look you will see what I'm saying is true!!! Every other local business charges $10 to $12 for a comparable salad. The grilled chicken was cold and pre-made from a food supply company and the croutons were soggy as if they had been sitting out picking up moisture. The dressing was not homemade, but out of a bottle. Also for that price you would think that the salad would be extra large, but it wasn't!!! Because the simple order took sooo long, I decided to have a beer. A small 12 Oz. IPA beer was $8.00. All of our local craft beer providers are at $6 or $ 6.50 at best. I eat out locally 5 times a week, but will NEVER spend a penny of my money at this place again. THINK before you go there. You have many other local fair priced establishments...

"The Grouse" has long been a favorite for my wife and me. However, we haven't been back for a while, and had a chance to eat there a couple days ago. Knowing it is under new management, we were a bit curious to see what, if any, changes were made, and how it would affect the food. We.were pleasantly surprised. My wife got the baked fish and " Baby Baker" potatoes; I got the fried fish and french fries. Her fish was superb, although she was initially skeptical of the potatoes. But throughout the meal, she couldn't stop raving about them. My fish was awesome, and although in my experience, "fries are fries," these may have been the best fries I have ever had.

The staff was cheery and helpful, and the craft beer selection terrific as always. The menu has favorites from before, plus a few additions that look very tempting.

Well done, we can't wait to go back.

Highly...
