FOOD POISONING
Terrible experience, will not be going back. My sibling and I went here to get a quick lunch, and not only was the service terrible, but we both got sick after the fact. Our waitress seemed very absent minded; when we ordered a side of clam chowder she returned with soup that had no clams in it but several types of meat. We could not eat this due to dietary restrictions, and were pretty sure that it was the wrong soup to begin with, to which she responded with 'I don't know much about clam chowder'. I also ordered the veggie wrap, which was clear had been sitting out for a while since the wrap/tortilla was soaked through and very soggy (inedibly so). When my sibling asked for hot water for tea, our waitress said she would go receive it, but rather sat down in eyeshot of us and chatted with coworkers for 15 minutes before remembering to bring it to the table. We both woke up the next morning having food poisoning from our experience - do not go here if you value your health or a minimum want a half...
Read moreI am sitting here at my desk eating by lunch which is left over lobster ravioli that I had for dinner over the weekend from Fontana's. It is delicious! We go there quite offen and have never had a bad experience. The chef there now, Jesse is a treasure. He never ceases to amaze me with his talent for coming up with creative dishes that could compete with some of the best New York City restaurants. The bar at times can be very busy and you may have to wait. But, be patient, it is worth the wait. Jim and Steve, the bartenders there are always happy and make the experience an enjoyable one no matter if your just there for a quick drink, dinner or to watch the Steelers lose or the Pens win. Jim and Nan are great people who have a little gold mine there. I wish they were open for breakfast on the weekends! It's just a great little place, operated by a nice family who serve great food and provide good service. Consistently. You won't be...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant with a reservation, the hostess pointed and said "you're at that table", no welcome to Fontana's, nothing. Not thinking much of it, we took a seat. Our waitress was clearly busy and we didn't mind waiting for her take our order. She was pleasant and apologized for our wait. So far so good.... until, after ordering another round of drinks and just finishing our dinners, that same hostess came to our table and said "just letting your know the next reservation for this table has arrived". What??? Our reservation was for 6:15 and she told us this at 7:04. Our bill was $100 without tip and we were basically shoved out the door. Sad too, because we would have come back to this place. It's cozy and the food was good, but after the behavior by the hostess, we will...
