If you are considering ordering Taste Budz for catering please reconsider. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I ordered from them last Monday and spoke to the owner D. The reason why I ordered from Taste Budz was because my client wanted me to support a local restaurant. I had no idea what I was in for when I put the order in. I called at 10:46a just to see if they were open and D answered her restaurant line. I told her I would call her back with my clients order which I did at 11:01am for a noon delivery or close to it. She happily took my order and said "if my partner can't do it then I will personally deliver myself". To make a long story short, the food did not arrive until 3pm which means my clients did not take their lunch at noon and I did not get to speak to my client that day regarding my business. I asked for some type of refund when I spoke to her partner and he said he would look into it. Later that day, D text me and started to threaten me to not back charge or else she would put in a claim and file a report. She then proceeds to text the rest of the evening harassing me. Her last text message to me was at 10:42pm at night! I woke up to reading that text and I was so upset. I'm not sure why she was the one upset because I still paid full price for a 4 hour late delivery! I stopped responding to her text messages. Today, I had to reach back out to her because she never sent me a receipt. I need my receipt for work expenses. I had to continue to ask for my receipt and the only thing she cared to do was send me messages recapping the incident last Monday. She has a way of making a customer feel belittled and bullied which is how I’ve felt throughout this entire situation. Finally she sent me a receipt but of course it was not the itemized one. At this point it’s not about the refund or the fact that she delivered 4 hours later. It's been about her threatening text messages and bullying. I was willing to settle for an apology about the late delivery but when she went off again today that’s when I decided to write this review. If you did not have the people for delivery or if you were in fact closed then why would you happily take my order and promise a noon delivery? Keep the money! I still plan on supporting the local restaurants but this review is to hopefully warn other sales reps to reconsider using them for catering services. AT first I thought that the atmosphere was a vibe a long side the customer service but it was all a smoke screen they take your order and than bring you your food which is normal so upon me paying for my food I got to the part where It asks you if you wanna tip which I always tip but my daughter decided to push the tip before I could even do anything so I say hey my daughter pushed the tip and it wasn't what I wanted to tip and asked if she can cancel my order and redo it the response I got was the young lady smiling while proceeding to tell me there was nothing she can do about it so I let that go I order my sauce to be on the side instead of on my meat than I go sit and wait for the ox tail with greens and Mac and cheese and a side of banana pudding sounds good enough rightttt well after waiting for some time finally I go up to inquire about my meal and the lady who brought my food out she seemed sweet but forgot to give me my complete order so I leave to go get my daughter and nephew the ice cream that was promised to them I realized that I didn't receive my banana pudding or sauce so I goes back in there for the rest of my order and they give me the pudding which by the way the presentation was all bad and the taste was ok but I was told that they would have to charge me for the sauce the meat was mostly fat the greens were terrible and the Mac and cheese was soggy overall I didn't even finish the meal tried giving it to the children they didn't like it needless to say first impressions are everything and I won't be returning to this place today will be my first and last...
Read moreMy friend offered to buy dinner and I had been wanting to try this place so bad. He placed the order and was given a time of an hour to pick up... over 2hrs later, we FINALLY got our meals. He made a comment about the wait and got snapped at... that should've been the first sign, but red flags are apparently my jam.
Neither of us loved anything about it... Luke warm food, the sauce on the mac & cheese broke and was oily, the jerk chicken was meh, and the greens were not very good at all, and I didnt finish them ornthe macaroni. I judge all southern spots by their greens and mac & cheese, so I won't try them again. He got the jerk alfredo, and the alfredo tasted like a low cost jar sauce. Super disappointed, as all the hype along with my love of Cajun food and southern cooking in general... it was a complete let down.
I went on yelp and Google to read reviews and see that we aren't the only ones with a bad experience, and that ridiculously long wait times, and poor customer service with piss poor attitudes when you mention your disappointment in the wait times, etc... there's really NO excuse. Good thing we didn't ask for a refund, apparently they don't like to give them, even if they overcharge you. It's a shame... customer service is the heart of every successful business, and word of mouth spreads...
