Over the Top Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in North Liberty

So I was born and raised in North Liberty util the sixth grade and then we moved away. I recently moved back to this nice little town last fall. I had totally forgotten about this little bakery until one of my friends told me how great there donuts were. I have to be honest, I thought for sure that being in a small town that they would be very pricy. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I went is this morning and got two very big donuts and was presently surprise that it was only $3. The place was clean and very well decorated. The two ladies behind the counter were very friendly and met me with a smile. When I got to my truck and took that first bite I was in heaven because they were still warm inside and probably the best donuts I have ever eaten. Of course I can't speak for anything else that they make there (Not yet anyways) but I can tell you that I am glad that I gave them a chance because they just earned a life long customer and I will tell everyone I know about this little hidden gem!

We visited OTT after Gail at Potato Creek told us they had the best donuts. Our camping trip did not go to plan, but we decided to stop for donuts after packing up in the rain. My husband got three donuts and two drinks while I waited in the car with our two kids. When he got back he said “that is a really cute place. Really nice.” We quickly handed out the donuts (a pink sprinkle was split between my boys), and within seconds my four-year-old says “dad, this is the best frosting I’ve ever tasted!” My husband kept saying how fluffy and light they were! I drove from South Bend to try their paczkis. It was worth the drive. I bought some for the whole family and everyone loved them. While I was there, I grabbed a couple breakfast sandwiches to go. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was huge. They have a decent menu if you are looking for breakfast or lunch. The staff member who took my order was very friendly and welcoming.
