Where do I begin? I had a group of 9 people. We arrived at 1115. No, they were not busy. I ordered second out of my group. We all ordered separately. I ordered at 1113. My lunch is one hour at my work. At 100, I still had not received my food. I ordered a pork sandwich with beans and potato salad. 7 people out of my group got their food within 20 to 30 minutes. I finally went up to the counter and said I ordered 45 minutes ago and I couldn't wait any longer so I asked for my money back. The man walked away from the counter, got into a verbal argument with one of the kitchen crew, then came back and gave me my 9 dollars back. He never said one word to me. One other person in my group had to ask for their money back. 2 of the people who received their food did not get the dessert they asked for. After going to the counter to ask for it they were ignored for 3 minutes so they just left. One of the people in my group said they had cartilage in their pork sandwich. This is literally the worst service/non service I have ever had and I'm 51. There was no rhyme or reason to the way they brought the food out. It sucks for them because I am a big tipper. I would not recommend this business to my...
Read moreAMAZING! I’m from California so there aren’t a lot of places to get BBQ or Southern cooking where I live. So while driving to North Carolina I took the opportunity to get all the BBQ I could. We were all excited about Tyler’s in Amarillo, TX after hearing rave reviews. It was ok. Lindsey’s has the best food I think I’ve ever had. The BBQ was phenomenal, the greens were fantastic, everything! The candied yams perfect, the greens had minimal bitterness (but still just enough), even the kids’ chicken strips were great. IDK how you could make chicken strips that different but that good but they did it. Pecan pie is my favorite dessert but I can’t have too much as it’s usually so sweet you just about pucker up, however their pecan pie was perfect. Still sweet but not so sweet that you want to put it down after half a slice. The gentleman there said his 96 year old father still comes in in the mornings to make the sides and he smokes the meat himself in the back. I don’t know when I’ll ever make another trip out this way but I’m definitely going to make a special trip at some point....
Read moreLindsey's Hospitality is a local, family owned African American barbecue restaurant and caterer that has been producing barbeque since 1956. The owners, Donnie & Eleanor Lindsey, talked to us for quite awhile. Donnie's father (and the restaurant founder) still comes in at age 94 to make the barbeque sauce. The restaurant has "hospitality" in the name because it does a busy catering business, but they also have ample seating in the restaurant. Customers order at the counter before being seated. The host (and owner) was welcoming and offered friendly advise to help us make our selections from the menu board. We had the catfish plate and the chopped pork plate. Each dinner comes with a choice of sides, and we chose sweet potato, coleslaw and baked beans. The breaded catfish was seasoned nicely, and the sauce on the chopped pork had just the right amount of tangy sweetness. This restaurant in North Little Rock is just a short drive across the river from Little Rock, and worth the trip. We will be back on our next trip...
