Use to work and on the first night of busy I was given 3 trainees to help me with the fry and salad side of the kitchen and being slammed with orders which managers shut down the tickets in the kitchen to catch up and I didn't see one of the orders of wings go out to the server's and it went to a child age 8, the wings were still raw and me being a certified sous chef and having 3 trainees to train and supervise for the job, I was terminated the next day no idea why and lost all the determinations about quality and good food service for Mr Arndt whom claims he was tired of giving his best to other people who was taking the credit and not giving back to employees, but to help him open up the place and the first slam night of busy and thinking that I can train 3 trainees with my degrees in culinary arts schools and monitor the services of the trainees in a slammed position which Rick chose to shutdown the orders from coming back to the kitchen and I was not given leniency for the order of the wings that the child was served with anything to do with keeping my job, I haven't been back and it was my last job which now I am disabled and can no longer be the chef I once was, I lost the feeling in my hands and arms start shaking violently which I can't help and can't trust the abilities of my limbs with the chef knives I have been trained to use in commercial food service industry, hard to give up the gift with passion to create 5 star meals for the public interest in...
Read moreThoroughly disgusting experience!!! Let's start at the beginning. The salads came out IMMEDIATELY after the appetizer arrived at our table. The appetizer, shrimp, was undercooked. The core of the head of lettuce was in my wife's salad. We both ordered Prime Rib. My Wife ordered hers medium well and I ordered mine medium rare. BOTH OF THEM WERE COLD. Her Prime Rib arrived LESS done than mine, dripping blood all over her plate. She finds that disgusting. The center of mine was RAW(which I didn't notice at first). When we brought this to the attention of the server, she took it back to the kitchen. When she brought it back, it was slightly seared on both sides but still cold in the center and still dripping blood, bright red in the inside. The server asked if she should take it back again, neither my Wife or I felt that it would do any good. My Wife told the server that she wouldn't be eating it. When I asked to speak to the Manager, the server chuckled and said "it won't do any good, he's the cook". The restaurant was far from busy even though it was New Year's Eve. We were not offered any resolution or even offered a discount. I guarantee that not only will we NOT be going back but will be very vocal about just how BAD it was! I don't see how they stay open if this is any indication of their typical lack of quality. 1 star is FAR too many. Avoid this place...
Read moreAs someone from North Platte, I used to enjoy this restaurant and coming here with family when I'm in town. But after seeing how they treat their employees I will never support this business again. What kind of restaurant closes their doors for weeks and tells the public before their employees? Then you turn off commenting on social media so your employees and the public can't voice these concerns. On top of that you have hostile managers telling your staff "as of right now nobody has a job" and then saying you dont care what they do because the restaurant will be fine no matter what happens. Excuse me? That's not how real management works. Management is supposed to lead, support, and motivate their teams to do better. I've worked in restaurants for 9 years and I've done everything from host, serve, bartend, dishes, cooking, and management. I cant imagine treating my staff or allowing myself to be treated like that. That is not how successful management teams treat their staff. This is not acceptable, do better. I sent this feedback directly to the restaurant on FB messenger but they decided to read it without responding so I'm posting it here as well for anyone considering this restaurant. North Platte has many other restaurants with kind owners and staff, consider them instead of...
