The Hornet's Nest Sub Shop — Restaurant in North Reading

Went there with my girlfriend. We knew the place is known for subs so I can't comment on those but we were both in the mood for chicken tenders. We each ordered a chicken tender "dinner" because apparently you can only order them as a side unless you go for a full fledged dinner which just meant we got fries with them. No salad or drink. How that deserves a "dinner" label is beyond me. We both got a coke zero since drinks weren't included in the dinner.. price came out to $42!!! Look i understand we are dealing with inflation and high food prices right now but that's just ridiculous. A 6% inflation rate doesn't explain those kind of prices considering that we could've gotten the same amount of food at KFC for just over half the price. The tenders were VERY average. I have had frozen brands prepared in an oven that tasted better than these ones. For the price we paid these tenders should've absolutely blown our socks off. Instead they tasted like they had been frozen and microwaved. The fries were...fine. Nothing remarkable. On top of all that, they didn't offer any sauces except for ketchup. My girlfriend asked if she could have some sweet n sour sauce when we were served and the guy just seemed to act like he didn't hear her. They didn't even offer if we wanted ranch/BBQ/etc. And it's not like they were busy... there were like 5 guys in the kitchen, one of them was eating and we were the only ones in the store. They at least offered us a free slice of cheese pizza while we were waiting and they tasted OK.... I'm sure their subs are great but I would be cautious ordering anything else there, especially for what they...

David it was a pleasure meeting you & your staff. The steak bomb 💣 without the salami was delicious not salty and premium quality ingredients especially the meat, very good bread as well. I & my daughter shared it & loved it. Honestly was one of the best I've ever ate & I've tried alot. The ranch wrap was great as well my girlfriend loved it so much she ate the whole thing. I was surprised due to its size it was a big meal. Little man ate ham & cheese and kept saying he loved everything about it I'm not pulling your chain thanks for that again. Your staff and yourself are very welcoming we enjoyed the hospitality. Your store was very clean & well put together with a great menu selection of unseen choices you dont really see around. This is eternally the best subs in North Reading and no one will tell me otherwise. They always use hand-baked sub rolls, and the freshest, high quality ingredients. They always give the right balance of portions to the sub too.

They use REAL, ITALIAN/NY york style hand tossed crust on the pizza, which is like breaded/seasoned underneath, none of that oily Greek style pancake crust garbage which is everywhere in NE, much to the dismay of anyone with good taste.

It has a unique flair to all of its food items which practically every person who moved out of North Reading tells me...
