After leaving our nail appointment, Den and I were both starving! We decided to check out a local bar that was recommended to us! 🙂

The atmosphere gives that dive bar feel but with a fresh faced interior and a staff full of fun and friendly crew members! We were greeted by one bartender but both bartenders on staff were very attentive and friendly to us 😻

We started with a water and diet coke, plus the Sampler Platter. The platter includes four wings (sauce your choice), 2 large pretzel sticks, cheese curds, and potato skins. Don't judge a book by its cover: the Buffalo Ranch wings look a hot mess but they were fresh out of the fryer and absolutely delicious 😋 the potato skins left much to be desired and we would not recommend the potato skins as an app alone. The cheese curds were great, especially with the chipotle ranch! The pretzel sticks were hot and fluffy, the cheese was a nice touch! 🤟🏽

We decided to split the Firecracker burger! The burger itself we ordered medium, which is then topped with pepper jack cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and nacho cheese sauce on a brioche bun! Again, presentation doesn't mean anything here! The burger was fantastic (the flavors work well together and made the burger bussin'). I chose cheese fries as our side, which were crispy and not skimpy on the bacon 🤤

No dessert is offered here so we stopped at Whole Foods for some cookies and fresh fruit! 🍓

Overall, we decided to rate this fabulous small town hangout as a solid 7! While the potato skins weren't up to par, the rest of the meal paid for it. We left full and satisfied! 🔥

My story began in the quaint city of Kenosha, Wisconsin around 4 PM. Having laden my 2000 Jeep Cherokee with associated trinkets, clothing, and several Wisconsin souvenirs...I was ready to make my move cross-country. The Jeep was freshly back from an expensive series of repairs, and this was her first long trip. I was a bit tense, but she was doing all right. The motor was purring like a tame tiger, the radio was back in action (with both the left AND right speakers working!), and the hood stayed latched even at 75 mph. Naturally, there were a few areas of concern- a few loud THWACKS as the suspension failed to negotiate a few bumps, a cruise control system that tried to launch me into orbit several times...but otherwise, she was determined and capable.

Seven hours later I was a parched man, having driven 380 miles without food or beverage. Naturally, I turned to the old standbys- Steak N Shake and Taco Bell. They failed me.

As I looked for a hotel to land at, I realized the food was not necessary. However...as I had only spoken briefly to a toll booth attendant all day...I was craving some social interaction. A quick Google search later, and lo and behold! A country establishment...that was OPEN.

Brittney immediately procured the site's finest offerings and my thirst was quenched! Even better, the social interactions were fantastic.

High-quality staff, a clean decor, and a convenient location. Who needs...

62 bucks (24% tip), 2 steaks, 2 salads, 2 baked potatoes, 2 cocktails and a iced tea. Was it the best steak I ever had? No, but it wasn't a 300+ check for 2 people either. Thurs. is steak night, and I'm not sure how they do a decent sized strip for 10 bucks, but they did. Normally I'd say they make it up in drink prices, but those were pretty good too. We plan on taking another shot at steak night again soon.

2024.01.11 haven't been in on a regular basis in quite a while and most of the servers knew us and were attentive... speaks volumes about them. It was steak night and that's what my buddy ordered. I wasn't really hungry and asked for a side salad with grilled chicken breast. Only regret was, after swiping some of my buddy's fries, I should have ordered some. While not the most elegant of meals, I really liked the chicken and would order something with grilled chicken again.
