In short, you're better of going to Longhorn right up the road and that's no knock on Longhorn.
In Long, my fiancé and I went to Bistro 83 for the first time last night (8/9/2023) to celebrate a recent accomplishment.
We arrived around 7:15PM. Our first experience of this establishment was the hostess explaining to us in emphasis, that the last call for the kitchen was at 8:30PM. I get wanting to make sure guest are aware of timelines, but like I mentioned, it was 7:15PM.
To help paint a more clear picture of the foot traffic at the Bistro at the time, it may have been 35% occupied, MAYBE.
The hostess proceeds to escorts us to our table, where we were greeted by our server. We ordered 2 Dragon Berry Mojitos and an order of their Devil's on Horseback to start. Several minutes go by and the bartender brings our drinks over to us, and goes here are your drinks and walks away. The drinks he brought over were the wrong drinks, but we were there to celebrate, so though they were the wrong drinks they were still good and we didn't want this minor inconvenience to ruin our night. The app soon after comes out and I will give them credit, they were delicious.
The waitress then comes back to take our food order. If you have taken a look at the Bistro's menu you notice it's not very big and options are limited. That's fine, we knew what we wanted once we decided this was where we were going to go to celebrate. I proceed to tell the waitress that I would like their Delmonico with Truffle Fries instead of the mash potatoes. She responded and said they were out of the Delmonico. I was a little perplexed, I understand restaurants run out of food from time to time, but I've only ever experienced or heard stories of restaurants with pages of different food options. With a restaurant like the Bistro with already limited option this was disappointing to say the least. With that being said, I opted for the Steak Au Poivre and my fiancé with the Bourbon Demi Chicken.
Dinner finally comes out, and I wish I took a photo, the steak they plated looked like two scrap pieces meat that a steak would be embarrassed to be associated with and my truffle fries were what you would find at the bottom of the grease tray; nothing but hard crumbs with an over compensating amount of truffle and garlic seasonings. If that wasn't enough, my fiancé's meal started off fine, the dark meat was extremely juicy and moist, BUT as soon as she got the breast of the chicken, it was comparable to trying to eat sand. We ended up just leaving the entire breast on plate.
To be truthful, if it wasn't for the hype, restaurant presentation, the limited options, glowing reviews (those characteristics of a higher-end restaurant) I don't feel I would have ever spent the time I did making this post. I was explaining to my fiancé after the meal, I felt like I was just robbed and I have never felt that way leaving a restaurant (Entire experience: $100+ + Tip). I mentioned this earlier, save a couple bucks go to Longhorn up the road or if you want something a little more comparable as far as occasion, food selections, etc., go Strip in Avon.
Needless to say, we saw what Bistro 83 has to offer and we're content with not going there again.

Read moreWe went there for Happy Hour on Tuesday afternoon, this was my 2nd time there, my friend has been there several times. When I was there the first time for dinner, the food was good, but menu is limited and expensive. Ordered 2 basic hamburgers this time, the hamburgers were pinkish-red had to be sent back. My tomato on the burger had a big core in the center and the sliver of onion on it was as sparse as could be. Anyway, the bartender (Jack or Jeff) was very nice and attentive. The young lady that brought our water was very nice. However, our waitress ( who we've had before) I don't recall her name but she has dark hair and heavy eye makeup, was just like a robot. Very snobbish and acts annoyed if you complain about your food or drinks. My friend had a martini and wasn't happy with it. When the waitress asked us how everything was , my friend questioned how she made the martini, because she specifically told her how to make it. The waitress was clearly annoyed that she questioned her. So, why was the waitress making the martinis when there's a bartender? It wasn't busy. Also, she asked for a slice of lemon for her water....that took her about 15 minutes. I worked in a Level 1 Trauma Center in charge of X-Ray in the Emergency Dept. and patient care/customer service was a top priority. I suggest that waitress find a different career. The one thing the waitress did do right was give my friend a $5 off card. How people are treated matters. Was at Olive Garden last night and the waitress was fun, great personality, joked with us....and we all tipped her well and the food was great. The restaurant itself is nice and I like the atmosphere. Accept constructive criticism and improve it, you'll...
Read moreWe had dinner with friends last week the kitchen and the workers are phenomenal with their food and the presentation and the delivery however what is getting to me is the last few times that we've came in the bartender comes over into the dining area to take our order then disappears no refills on our drinks no checking on us not to see if we need anything for a table hows our food do we need any (desserts) do we need to-go boxes do we need our check where do we pay I'm grateful that the sous chef came out checked on us talked to us for a moment about the delicious food gave us to go boxes I have to get up and go find water we had to get up and go find our check then we had to go to the bar to pay the bill. Why would a bartender come from the bar into the dining area to serve us if he wasn't going to be professional and do his job he's always tipsy and very unprofessional I've been coming here for years it used to be a really great place to come now if anything I'll probably get takeout food to go so I don't have to deal with the unprofessionalism of the people in the dining area or at the bar very...
