My special needs daughter and I went Village Inn, Wilkesboro for the buffet. She loves pizza and salad bars. She has a serious medical condition with her stomach and sometimes can’t eat when we get to a restaurant. I usually get to pay the child’s price for her buffet because she eats less than a 3 year old. However, today I was told no I had to pay the adult price for her, okay she really wants to eat here so I’ll pay it…$25 (2 buffets, 1 drink and 1 water). She couldn’t eat any of the pizzas because the bread was so tough she couldn’t bite it. So she was eating from the salad bar. She had a plate and a bowl on our table from the salad bar that would be thrown away when we left. I asked if I could have a togo tray for only those two dishes to be emptied into so she could eat it later today. I asked for the tray only after I had watched a couple and their children make repeated trips to the pizza bar and had plates full of pizza on their table, then the dad goes and comes back with 2 white styrofoam togo tray, puts all that pizza in them and they leave with it. I asked for only what she had actually been eating from and told them they could keep the tray up front until we left so nothing else could be put in it, I was told no. I asked to buy a Togo tray and was told I could buy one for $5.29 plus tax. I proceed to buying this expensive tray, which after tax she said was $5.69 now. As I got the money out she gets a desert size tray and I said no for that much money I want the white regular styrofoam Togo tray. She says no that’s for wings. I took my money back and put the food in my styrofoam cup for my water and left. I will NOT be going back here. I was NOT asking for anything I hadn’t paid for, when it is on your table it is food you have paid for. All the pizzas were lacking in sauce and the crust was difficult to bite. The choices on the pizza bar were very poor also. The spaghetti was dried out and there was not any type of bread to go with the spaghetti. So why was my daughter and I not as advantaged as the family of four who also ate from the buffet and got Togo trays with a lot of pizza in them and we couldn’t get one for what we were actually eating and...
Read moreI'm really upset at how I was treated. First let me say the salad bar was fresh and the pizza got better after they started putting out fresh ones. The first slices were cold and you could tell they had been out awhile. I started to get some spaghetti but it was dried up. Looked like it had been there since lunch. I did get a piece of garlic bread but it was rubbery from sitting there. When I asked if they would put a strawberry dessert pie out, I was told that they wouldn't put one out until the other dessert pie was gone. And yet three other people made request for specialty pizzas after my request. They all got their pizzas and didn't have to wait until all the other pizzas were gone before their requests were honored. This really makes me mad!!! I didn't ask to get special treatment I only wanted to be treated like everyone else that requested a certain pizza. I know they were short handed because my husband overheard them talking about it. But that's not an excuse for not honoring my request when they were honoring everyone else. After I finished eating my pizza I went over to see if they had put out a strawberry pie and they hadn't. There was a server at the buffet when I walked up and he asked me if I was looking for a particular pizza and I again asked about the pie and he told me that the guy that told me I would have to wait told him NOT to put out a strawberry pie until the other dessert pie was gone. It wasn't gone because nobody liked it. I got a piece of it because I paid for the buffet. It wasn't very good. I left there without getting the one thing I requested. I will NOT be...
Read moreMy daughter said she thought the pizza here was really good, the kindergartners at her school went on a field trip and this is where they stopped to eat the other day. That being said I have to question the guy claiming that this place isn't kid friendly.. they obviously are bc they sure did take in alot of kindergarten students the other day & my daughter said they were very nice there & she wants to go back. It is a buffet that other ppl will be eating from so you always need to use utensils and if your child cannot reach, then you need to tell your child to wait for help. A lil tip for nxt time- break up in groups, one parent & part of the kids can go get food at the buffet while the other parent & kids set at the table & then switch, this way a parent is there to help the smaller ones get their food without having their hands full and helps prevent food handling -...
