Awful, and quite frankly, a bizarre experience. My wife and I decided to grab a quick beer one afternoon and she suggested Anchor so I agreed. Everything started out normal enough. We ordered two pints and took our seats at the bar. There were a few hipsters chilling (maybe the owners?) and apparently their children, which was fine.
That is where things got weird. We sat there quietly talking for about ten minutes before we started wondering where the beers were? I could see the pint glasses sitting there empty beneath the taps while the "bartender" just milled aimlessly, occasionally stopping to watch gaming videos on his computer. We were completely ignored. Fun.
So we waited another five or more minutes watching him avoid us. Seriously, no communication whatsoever. What is happening? It appeared there was issues with the kegs but nobody said anything to us. Finally, we were able to get his attention and he explained they were out of Co2 or something so there would be no beer. We were sitting there for nothing. Cool. Then he asked if we wanted our money back. "Um, yea we would like our money back if we aren't getting beers." It was like nobody there had worked in the service industry before and we were being strange for wanting the beers we purchased.
By that time we were pretty annoyed so we got up to get a refund and leave for somewhere that actually served beer like a normal establishment. Then some random lady sitting at the bar started telling us it would "be like thirty minutes," until the owner or whatever came back. What? No thanks. We declined for obvious reasons. She then had the gall to point at the one person behind the bar and rudely tell my wife "talk to HIM for your refund." Wow. It was as if they were perturbed that we wanted our beers.
My wife went to the car while I got the refund. The "bartender" had the clueless audacity to begin telling me about some beer special they had some night or whatever. Is this really happening? I was so confused. "I will not be back," I replied. I tapped the bar twice and got the hell out of there.
Needless to say we'll never go back and never recommend it, which sucks because we live so close. Anyways, good luck with the business, and oh, maybe lay of the kombucha or kava or whatever because y'all seem to operate in a realm that does not include running a business...
Read moreThis place, man!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could. My wife and I are pretty big coffee fans, and the latte that Noah made me was phenomenal! I dare to say, the best one I’ve ever had! Atmosphere is great! Staff is very friendly, if you want them to be. Or just grab the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had and go. The quality of the beans is something out of this world. Idk if it has something to do with where they get their raw beans, them roasting the beans right there at the coffee shop, or making their own in house syrups, but you can definitely tell there’s something extraordinary in that cup! It’s so unfortunate that we don’t live in the area, but if I’m ever back in Wilkesboro, I’ll...
Read moreI’m staying near by for a couple days (visiting from Michigan) and decided to try the 2 coffee shops in town that are not Starbucks. I first ordered off of the seasonal menu and got a drink that was cold brew, pineapple juice, and coconut milk....not good. I then got a latte which was fine though tasted a little burnt. The barista was super nice and helped me pick, but some of their seasonal drinks were a little too out there for me. The shop is cute but the plants are dying and it was a little cluttered behind the counter. I’m glad I tried it but I won’t be returning for my...
