Marisa's Pizza — Restaurant in Northfield Township

I work nearby and after a coworker said that they had a better Italian beef than Portillos, I had to see for myself.

I went there for lunch and lucked out and caught the Thursday lunch special which was an Italian beef with fries and a drink.

They brought out an Italian beef topped with a layer of melted mozzarella cheese wrapped in lightly toasted garlic bread (the garlic bread was $1 extra) and the sandwich was complimented by an order of perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries with a side of cheese for dipping (the cheese was $ .50 extra).

I took one bite and knew that I had made a great decision for lunch. It’s not better than Portillos per se, but they’re definitely on the same level so any Portillos fans out there reading this….I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I love deep dish pizza and I love tavern style pizza. Marisa's pizza is somewhere in between. I ordered a large sausage pizza and requested the pizza to be sliced like a pie. What I ended up with is a pizza similar to New York style pizza except Marisa's pizza wasn't as soggy as New York style pizza. Overall, I think that it is a great pizza. I enjoyed the thickness of the crust and the cheese wasn't greasy. I noticed that they also sell pizza by the slice and they do not just sell them during lunch hours. Food is not good here.. Also overly priced food for cheap quality fast food... In the window is displayed Vienna Hot Dog sign... I ordered 2 hot dogs that were not even close to what a Vienna Hot Dog tastes like...didn't even look like a Vienna Hot Dog... The fries were crinkle fries that literally tasted liked they came from Walmart frozen food section. Another time I ordered a Chicken Parmesan sandwhich. Chicken patty was a frozen Chicken Patty meat that they microwaved... Not good .. Go somewhere else to eat better quality made and cooked food.. I won't eat...
