The change over from Fielderās Choice to the now new āRosemaryā was like night to day, as if you were watching an episode of Bar Rescue. After weād gone in, it had taken me a bit to realize there was a change in the place itself⦠except the Dog having a tasty beverage near the entrance which was one of the remaining differences.
We have tried to embrace the new found Rosemary but must say that we do miss Fielderās Choice which carried that additional star. Northfield could use a nice āboujeeā restaurant⦠but this isnāt it. It still has a slight upper echelon bar/pub feel to it (which is what I miss) but is trying to be an upper class Olive Garden and is slightly missing the mark when it comes to the pricing (which increased since the changeover).
With the new menu, weāve seen some excellent items now gone and replaced with many different pasta dishes. The staff seems a bit less laid back as they once were under the Fielderās atmosphere and understaffed as a whole which creates longer wait times when the place is busy.
All in all, the food is still pretty good and worth the up-charge as long as they keep up on the portions and the quality. We really do miss the nice hoodie and ball cap bar & pub feel of the place and because of that donāt see us going back as much as we once did under the previous title.
Keep the Dog picture, I love it⦠itās whatāll keep me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to the new Rosemarys a couple of times now. Itās been a mixed bag. Service is as before and is great. The sweet potato and reg potato waffles fries (and seasoned sour cream) are still there! 5 stars ā£ļø) Had the lunch special, which is a BLT and fries (subbing for waffle fries) and my sister had the Reuben melt. Both were excellent! What brought it down was a visit where we had dinner. The Chicken Marsala was delicious, but served with regular spaghetti was messy to eat and would have been better with any pasta that wasnāt long and therefore messy with the wrangling of noodles and chucks of chicken and mushrooms. It wouldāve got a 3 1/2 star rating. The lasagna, which is what usually tells me the how good a restaurant is, was abysmal. A bowl of overly sweet red sauce with a couple pieces of noodles, a bit of meat, a hint of ricotta cheese and a ton of mozzarella. Close to a bowl of melted cheese and red sauce. 1/2 star, the meat was tasty. It still has somewhat of a sports bar atmosphere though I think they took down a few of the big screen TVās, they still had several up playing different things that no one could hear. So depending on what they are going for, maybe sport bar-ish during lunch and if they want to have an atmosphere for date nights or nice dinner, maybe skip the sports playing overhead. Also, bring a sweater...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I ate here for the first time in June to celebrate our anniversary, and now we get take out every once in a while when we want a good meal and just don't want to cook. Tonight, my husband stopped just to grab me some wild rice soup because I'm not feeling 100% and it sounded good. They know him there now and realized I didn't get my usual order of soup, penne alla vodka, and tiramisu, so they asked him about it. My husband told them I wasn't feeling great so it would just be the soup tonight, and then they surpised us and threw in a piece of tiramisu for free! Talk about going above and beyond! This is definitely a place worthy of spending your money. Amazing food, exceptional service!
And for extra information no one asked for but I'm going to tell you anyway, I had an extremely difficult week for reasons I won't get into here, but I really wanted dessert tonight and had decided against spending the extra money on it right now. So whoever thought to throw that in there for me, thank you! That act of kindness was just what I needed right now and it...
