Its hard to write a review about a theatre because you CANNOT think about the movie you just saw, but about the theatre ITSELF. I'll do my best:
The place was a Kmart so its expansive and oddly shaped for its purpose. But, the seating is great and the spacing is wonderful so no one is ever between me and the screens. There's a great selection for snacks and sodas. The Decor is... odd, but all movie-related which is more than some theatres can say. Gigantic paintings of Batman, Darth Vader and the like dominate the entryway. Staff favorite movie posters are all posted up in one spot which was cute to see.
The bathrooms are a nightmare, unfortunately. Every single time I go in the men's room it smells awful and there's at least one toilet with a weapons-grade poop-and-paper lasagna stacked to the brim. One time when I went in there was a man having a seizure on the floor. I went to tell the staff, who did nothing and wouldn't come out from behind the counter. I had to locate the poor man's family to come and help him. (I have no idea how to help someone who's having a seizure, so all I could do was come out and shout for help.) Its good to know when the chips are down the staff will do nothing to help you. That aside, they really should send someone in there every hour or so to clean the place because it really is foul every single time I go in there.
The teenagers that run the place are very good at getting your tickets and snacks, but anything more than that is beyond their skill so don't rely on them if you can ask a stranger amongst the movie-goers to help you.
All in all, I'd give it a 3/5. Excellent facilities, functional staff. Just needs a bit more attentiveness to its restrooms and...
Read moreThe movie selections are always great, offering a variety of options for all moviegoers. The prices were fair, making it a somewhat affordable outing for families or individuals. Especially for $5 Tuesday night. They also add online or share on Facebook different movie selections for a specific week to watch. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the theater. The seats were comfortable and easy to find, making it a breeze to settle in and enjoy the film. I appreciated the different food options available, although I found the donuts to be tasty but not quite up to the standard of fair donuts. It was a bit disappointing that refills cost $3, but this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the experience. The cleanliness of the theater was exceptional, exceeding my expectations. The lines moved quickly, allowing for a smooth and efficient process from ticket purchase to seating. You can also order the tickets online or there's a machine option when you first walk in to order the tickets yourself if the lines were too overwhelming or long. However, I did notice that the theater was not kept particularly cool in the summer, so there was no need for a blanket or extra layers to keep warm. If anything it's almost like it's just a breeze. It can get stuffy or humid feeling sometimes. But it doesn't take away from the fun experience of going out to the movies. I would still highly recommend Cannon Valley Cinema 10 for a enjoyable movie-going experience. The combination of great movie selection, fair prices, friendly staff, and comfortable seating make it a top choice for entertainment. Regardless of the air...
Read moreSo.... I'm gonna be a crab... Like really, I promised my children a movie for Friday night but I was needed for work. So I swore up and down Saturday night would be the day. I was offered the opportunity to stay late today in order to leave early tomorrow... Like leave at two... (Which never happens for me.) But I found out that the kids were all dressed up and excited to go. So I declined the offer and just went home at 6:30. The movie starts at 7:40 so I drove like a mad woman... Didn't even showered... Just changed out of my scrubs ( which mind you, have been through hell today 🤢) and got into regular clothes... Drove all the way to Dundas to a movie that I was so proud to get to on time (ten minutes early mind you). By the grace of God, I made it on time.. my children and husband looking forward to this all day... To find out that the movie started 15 minutes into the show... The showing time at the movie theater was messed up... And it started without us.... Story of the God damn day... Tomorrow is going to be a better day....
