My family and I used to live across the street from this restaurant and we fell in love. The food never disappoints but sadly recently the service has. It is so upsetting when the food is such a hit and is always so delicious, but the staff in the front of the house puts a bad taste in your mouth from the start. We have called multiple times to place an order for pickup and have found the phone is turned off and disconnected, we have gone to dine in, put our name/number down on their wait list and were never called for a table. When we inquired the boy in the front told us "oh yeah sometimes the phone doesn't work" Most recently we went in on a weekday and I was very disappointed in the service we received. Me and my mother wanted to get some drinks to go, I called ahead so I could stop by and pick them up, the phone rang for about a minute straight until someone picked up. I had a chance to say my order, I wanted a Horchata and Jamaica, but was told "can I put you on hold there is some people in here" .I figured he would be back in a second so I started driving towards the restaurant, when we arrived it had been 15 minutes and I was still on hold. Me and my mother walked into the restaurant to find three employees standing around the phone talking, I showed them that nobody had responded to me after they placed me on hold for 15 minutes. I again placed my order for two drinks and while we were waiting noticed that there were many empty tables in the restaurant I don't believe they were busy enough for me to be able to drive all the way there and to not have the courtesy and or time to not answer a call they place on hold, they weren't apologetic about us having to wait and had no urgency to help us. The food is always 5 stars and we loved the fact that we were supporting a local Latino owned business but we cannot justify spending our money here anymore when time after time we have experienced...
Read moreSlow service, watered down drinks and dog food masquerading as authentic Mexican. Had the BEAN BURRITO SMOTHERED AND ONE BEEF TACO and it looked like someone went to the bathroom on my plate. The beef was dry and the and canned beans were just disgusting. . The taco, yuck! Took a long time to get a beer and the complimentary chips were cold, personally I think they refilled the basket from other baskets they didn't want to throw away. The server was just bad. This place is full because their is not Taco Bell next to this place otherwise people would go to the Taco Bell.
Otherwise, this place has bots posting good reviews and real people who actually try this place know that a barf bag would be better than this place. Yuk! Let me text yuk to yum! with a complimentary barf bag for two. Yuk!
PS, Went back to this awful place because and it's worse.
I recently dined at El Mirador Mexican Restaurant in Northglenn, Colorado, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The food was incredibly disappointing. The tomato sauce on my dish tasted like it came straight out of a cheap, low-quality can of Italian tomato sauce, with no flavor that even remotely resembled authentic Mexican cuisine.
The refried beans were no better—they were obviously canned, lacking any freshness or flavor, which is unacceptable for a restaurant claiming to serve authentic Mexican food. It felt like they put no effort into the preparation or quality of their ingredients.
To top it all off, the service was just as bad as the food. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, making the whole experience even more unpleasant. I had to wait far too long just to get my order taken, and when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best.
I would not recommend El Mirador to anyone looking for a quality meal or a pleasant dining experience. Save your time and money and go...
Read moreJust moved to the area and my optometrist recommended this place. We're very picky about Mexican Restaurants and have been driving to Golden for it. We were not disappointed! I always test the chile rellenos, green chile, and salsa to judge if I like the place & all three were fantastic! The green chile does have a bit of a kick, but not so much it took away from the flavor. (Perfect) The variety and sophistication of the menu surprised us and while we waited for our takeout we planned all the things we wanted to try. Next time though, we're dining in.
The atmosphere reminded me of my favorite Mexican restaurant my family went to when I was little. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Once we got home we taste-tested everything. About a third of the way through my husband said, "Well, no more (x-restaurant)."The salsa was made with little chunks of onion and cilantro (my favorite). The chips and salsa came free with our order which was a nice surprise. Nothing seems to be free anymore. The chicken and barbacoa had been marinated, seasoned, and was tender in our smothered burritos. It's obvious the chefs take pride in their work.
I highly recommend this place, but I will say we drove by it a few times before we went there and every single time it was a packed parking lot. A lot of people are placing and picking up to-go orders. So expect a wait; it's worth it. Everything was made exactly as we requested: my husband always modifies his order. My husband noticed they properly socially distanced the tables and took care to ensure it was a safe as possible. Yes, masks are required until your at your table. We waited 20 minutes for our take-out, grabbed a menu to order ahead next time, and tipped the person who...
