I waited about 10 to 15 minutes to get seated. Every time the waitresses walked by me they avoided eye contact with me. When I was finally seated it took awhile to get a menu. Then I placed my order and they forgot to give me my eggs. After a while of trying to get the waitress to notice me I got my eggs. I ordered them over easy but got them over hard. The waitress didn't come over to see if I needed a refill of coffee. She placed the check on the table and walked away. About 15 minutes later, she put another check on my table for another tables bill. The place has about 14 tables and two waitresses working. I was a waitress for over 10 years and I could have handled that restaurant by myself and not had to avoid the customers. The food was okay but it was overpriced. Read moreVery New England, very "diner." It has your typical diner food, cooked in a familiar diner way. Right from the start, with the "sit where you like" laid back feel, you can feel the history of the American diner everywhere, even in the color scheme of the walls. Friendly staff, all of them. When I say, "damn good" I mean it. I lived down south for some time, and let me tell you -- NORTHWOOD DINER HAS THE BEST DAMN BISCUITS AND GRAVY IN NEW ENGLAND.
How do I know this? My boyfriend and I go on adventures to find the diners only locals know about, and you can tell a lot about a restaurant based on how clean their bathroom is, and how their biscuits and gravy are.
NORTHWOOD DINER BEATS THEM ALL. Not "the arrow" not "miss Mary's". Northwood Diner takes the cake on this one. Go there. The food is amazing. The service is just as good. Tell...
