My partner and I went for the Harry Potter trivia tonight (11/21/2023) and the room was absolutely packed. We could only see one server at first and that young man was really hauling trying to get to everyone and take their food and drink orders. He hustled as quickly as he possibly could while remaining pleasant and courteous to the entire room of guests. We ended up flagging down Tucker he looked to be a bartender; when we asked him if we could order he stopped what he was doing to take our food and drink order. Both he and Quinn with another young lady were hustling to make sure that the entire room was well taken care of. All three of them were on top of the service and got orders out in a timely manner. Tucker did say they were short staffed and while this was obvious given that there were so few people working on the floor tonight they all did such an amazing job. I really hope the owners or managers know that these three people held their own and did an amazing job. We got the wings and buffalo chicken dip; both were absolutely delicious. The wings were incredibly juicy and delicious; the dip was delicious, flavorful; and most importantly all of the food was piping hot. It was awesome to see the teamwork that went on to make sure we were taken care...
Read moreAlright, you guys know the food, drinks, and Service have to be really great or really poor to get me to come out and shout about it.
In this case all were awesome! We stopped in for a small lunch and were immediately greeted with a smile from all the staff that encountered us. We were allowed to seat ourselves at the hi tables in the bar and the young man from behind the bar quickly came out to greet us and get us situated. He explained that today's lunch special was Lobstah roll and fries for $16.00. Loooove it!!! We each had one and they were incredible! Apparently the lunch special today also offered a pint or flight of beer from thier brewery for a mere $5.00. The young man then took great care to work with my wife so that she found four beers that she absolutely loved and put her flight together.
The atmosphere was friendly and I peeked at other specials that they had coming up later this week as well. Not for nothing guys but the food is A#1. The Service comes quickly and with a smile, and my lovely wife found four new beers she loved. To sum it all up folks, we will be back as regulars here for sure!
PS, try the little naughty flavored donuts at the brewery....
Read moreOh, what a lovely place to be on a windy day. Northwoods Brewing is where it's at. Let's start with the taps, 24 was it? That's extraordinary. So many choices. Then there is our beertender, Rich, who was friendly and informative, willing to share his experience and expertise. I tasted the Czech Dark Lager which has "notes of cherry, chocolate and spice." While I couldn't taste those specific notes it was a lovely little lager. Their Lucilla, a spiced/herbed beer with hibiscus and butterfly pea flower tea, is a change. And while it looks like grape juice, it tastes like beer. Not fruity, not sweet, but delightful and something new. The Coffee Porter with chocolate and caramel was fairly coffee heavy but still nice. However, it was their Brown Owl ESB that made my knees weak. So good, so wonderfully balanced. So few breweries manage to do this right, and Northwoods achieves perfection in this. Yum. Rich knows his beers and was very helpful in sharing what he thought we would like. He was charming and friendly. We really liked this place. Breweries like this are incentive to move...
